Reflections on Surah Sad Ayah 34

38:34
ولقد فتنا سليمان والقينا على كرسيه جسدا ثم اناب ٣٤
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَـٰنَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَىٰ كُرْسِيِّهِۦ جَسَدًۭا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ ٣٤
وَلَقَدۡﲐ
فَتَنَّاﲑ
سُلَيۡمَٰنَﲒ
وَأَلۡقَيۡنَاﲓ
عَلَىٰﲔ
كُرۡسِيِّهِۦﲕ
جَسَدٗاﲖ
ثُمَّﲗ
أَنَابَﲘ
٣٤ﲙ
And indeed, We tested Solomon, placing a ˹deformed˺ body on his throne,1 then he turned ˹to Allah in repentance˺.

Some lessons here:

1. If you give something up for Allah SW he will replace it with something better. Soliman AS sacrificed his horses after them taking him from the remembrence of Allah SW, and Allah SW replaced that by giving him control over the wind to transport him where he desires. Which method of transport would you prefer? (Note: horses are permissible to eat so his sacrifice was not wasteful nor was it transgression, rather it was as an...
