2:70
قالوا ادع لنا ربك يبين لنا ما هي ان البقر تشابه علينا وانا ان شاء الله لمهتدون ٧٠
قَالُوا۟ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا هِىَ إِنَّ ٱلْبَقَرَ تَشَـٰبَهَ عَلَيْنَا وَإِنَّآ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَمُهْتَدُونَ ٧٠
قَالُواْﱁ
ٱدۡعُﱂ
لَنَاﱃ
رَبَّكَﱄ
يُبَيِّنﱅ
لَّنَاﱆ
مَاﱇ
هِيَﱈ
إِنَّﱉ
ٱلۡبَقَرَﱊ
تَشَٰبَهَﱋ
عَلَيۡنَاﱌ
وَإِنَّآﱍ
إِنﱎ
شَآءَﱏ
ٱللَّهُﱐ
لَمُهۡتَدُونَﱑ
٧٠ﱒ
Zij zeiden: "Roep voor ons jouw Heer aan, opdat Hij ons duidelijk maakt wat voor koe het moet zijn. Voorwaar, voor ons lijken alle koeien op elkaar. En voorwaar, wij zullen, als Allah het wil, tot de rechtgeleiden behoren."

Another mistake that the Israelites had made was to destroy the simplicity of divine religion by involving themselves in complicated theological wrangling. They had to learn to interpret God’s will in a straightforward manner and obey it immediately. This was another lesson that was taught under the pretext of this murder case: hair-splitting to define the exact scope of divine edicts will only make things difficult for everyone; additional conditions will only complicate the carrying out of what had originally been a simple commandment.
