Al-Qasas 28:58 وكم اهلكنا من قرية بطرت معيشتها فتلك مساكنهم لم تسكن من بعدهم الا قليلا وكنا نحن الوارثين ٥٨
وَكَمۡ
أَهۡلَكۡنَا
مِن
قَرۡيَةِۭ
بَطِرَتۡ
مَعِيشَتَهَاۖ
فَتِلۡكَ
مَسَٰكِنُهُمۡ
لَمۡ
تُسۡكَن
مِّنۢ
بَعۡدِهِمۡ
إِلَّا
قَلِيلٗاۖ
وَكُنَّا
نَحۡنُ
ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ
٥٨
ತಮಗೆ ಲಭಿಸಿದ ಜೀವನ ವೈಭವಗಳ ಬಗೆಗೆ ಅಹಂಭಾವ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ನಾಡುಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ನಾಶಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಅವರ ಆ ನಿವಾಸಗಳು ಪಾಳು ಬಿದ್ದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿರಿ. ಅವರ ನಂತರ ಅಪರೂಪದಲ್ಲೇ ಹೊರತು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಜನವಾಸವಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕೊನೆಗೆ ನಾವೇ ಅದರ ವಾರೀಸುದಾರರಾದೆವು 1.

The Destruction of Towns, which are not destroyed until Evidence is established against Them
Referring to the people of Makkah, Allah says:
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ بَطِرَتْ مَعِيشَتَهَا
(And how many a town have We destroyed, which was thankless for its means of livelihood!) They were arrogant
