Al-Baqarah 2:231 واذا طلقتم النساء فبلغن اجلهن فامسكوهن بمعروف او سرحوهن بمعروف ولا تمسكوهن ضرارا لتعتدوا ومن يفعل ذالك فقد ظلم نفسه ولا تتخذوا ايات الله هزوا واذكروا نعمت الله عليكم وما انزل عليكم من الكتاب والحكمة يعظكم به واتقوا الله واعلموا ان الله بكل شيء عليم ٢٣١

When you divorce women and they have ˹almost˺ reached the end of their waiting period, either retain them honourably or let them go honourably. But do not retain them ˹only˺ to harm them ˹or˺ to take advantage ˹of them˺. Whoever does that surely wrongs his own soul. Do not take Allah’s revelations lightly. Remember Allah’s favours upon you as well as the Book and wisdom¹ He has sent down for your guidance. Be mindful of Allah, and know that Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things.

And when you divorce women and they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or release them according to acceptable terms, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress [against them]. And whoever does that has certainly wronged himself. And do not take the verses of Allāh in jest. And remember the favor of Allāh upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] and wisdom [i.e., the Prophet's sunnah] by which He instructs you. And fear Allāh and know that Allāh is Knowing of all things.

और जब तुम स्त्रियों को तलाक़ दे दो, फिर वे अपनी इद्दत (निश्चित अवधि) को पहुँच जाएँ, तो उन्हें भले तरीक़े से रख लो अथवा उन्हें भले तरीक़े से छोड़ दो। तथा उन्हें हानि पहुँचाने के लिए न रोके रखो, ताकि उनपर अत्याचार करो। और जो कोई ऐसा करे, तो निःसंदेह उसने स्वयं अपने आपपर अत्याचार किया। तथा अल्लाह की आयतों को मज़ाक़ न बनाओ। और अपने ऊपर अल्लाह की नेमत को याद करो तथा उसको भी (याद करो) जो उसने पुस्तक (क़ुरआन) एवं ह़िकमत (सुन्नत) में से तुमपर उतारा है, वह तुम्हें उसके साथ उपदेश देता है। तथा अल्लाह से डरो और जान लो कि अल्लाह हर चीज़ को ख़ूब जानने वाला है।¹
