وقالوا اساطير الاولين اكتتبها فهي تملى عليه بكرة واصيلا

وَقَالُوٓا۟ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٱكْتَتَبَهَا فَهِىَ تُمْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا

Living on constant autopilot is a dangerous thing. As we journey through life, there will be invitations to good, alongside whispers that tempt us to the bad and whispers that mask the bad as something good. If we're unable to distinguish an inherent good from bad, we risk turning away the good and letting in the bad.

When we understand the similarities between the opening of Surah Al-Furqan and the entirety of Surah Al-Mulk alongside what it means for us, the subsequent verses of the former make a whole lot more sense,

{ The disbelievers say, “This is nothing but a fabrication which he made up with the help of others.” But in fact, they produced an injustice and a lie!
And they say, “Ancient fables which he has had written down, and they are rehearsed to him morning and evening.” } (Qur'an, 25:4-5)

Allah knows the secrets of what He creates, while we failed to see the emptiness of the very idols we created. They fabricated their idols, yet they call him out on a fabrication.

{ Whether you speak secretly or openly—He surely knows best what is in the heart. } (Qur'an, 67:13)

Likewise they wonder,
which man helped Muhammad ﷺ and how? Or maybe they could instead ask, what army aided him?

{ Also, which force will come to your help instead of the Most Compassionate? Indeed, the disbelievers are only in delusion. } (Qur'an, 67:21)

Lost in a fabrication, lost in creation, so they couldn't see the Creator, so they're reminded,

{ Say, “This has been revealed by the One Who knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth. Surely He is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” } (Qur'an, 25:6)

Look back again at your own creations and compare it to the creation of the heavens and the earth and the One who created it. That is how you will come to know.

{ Then look again and again—your sight will return frustrated and weary. } (Qur'an, 67:4)
