What a beautiful reminder from the Qur’an: when grief became too heavy for Ya‘qub عليه السلام, he did not deny it or pretend to be strong.
He said:
“I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah.”
(Qur’an 12:86)
There are moments when the burden sits heavily in our chest, and we simply need a listening ear.
Not criticism.
Not judgment.
Not a lecture.
Not a mountain of advice.
Sometimes we don't need someone to fix us.
We simply need somew...

I pray this lesson/reflection stay in you and me henceforth,

One verse that deeply moved me during my reflection on Surah Yusuf is the statement of Prophet Ya'qub (a.s.):

"I only complain of my anguish and sorrow to Allah, and I know from Allah what you do not know." (12:86)

Those around Ya'qub(a.s) had grown tired of his grief, perhaps assuming his tears were directed at them or that he sought something from them. But Ya'qub (a.s) clarified...

Grief With Dignity, Not Despair

The Qur’an does not demand emotional numbness, it teaches emotional direction. Ya‘qub shows that the strongest hearts do not deny pain and do not spill it in harmful ways; they carry it to Allah first, and that private turning to Allah turns grief into worship and keeps a wounded soul from becoming a wounded leader.

Silent Tears That Only Allah Sees

There are tears we cry in front of people.
And then there are tears that fall only in the dark.

The ones no one knows about.
The ones you wipe away quickly.
The ones that come during sujood when your chest feels too tight.

Sometimes the strongest people are the ones who cry the quietest.

Allah tells us about the pain of Prophet Yaqub (AS), who lost his beloved son and carried grief for years. And what did he ...

When someone gives you a gift you don’t like, you fake it... or at least you try to. You smile and say thank you in hopes of not hurting their feelings, because 'it’s the thought that counts.'
But what about when Allah ﷻ gifts you with something you don’t like... what then?

You can’t fake it.
Not with Him.
'And Allah knows what you conceal and what you reveal.' (16:19)

And even with yourself, you can only fake it for so long.
'They [try to] dec...

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

Imagine that you have lost someone so beloved to you, but the cause of this loss are also the people beloved to you. What sort of mental state would this cause a person? Who can help at this point? Who can remove the pain and suffering? Who is it that can cause peace to enter the heart when the situation seems perplexing, unjust and deeply painful?

I’m sure that the majority of u...

When the Past Haunts You….

Yusuf (AS) had a past too.
He was betrayed. Sold. Imprisoned. Forgotten.
But he didn’t let it poison his heart.

Sometimes, we relive things over and over…
Regrets. Loss. 'If only…'
And those 'what ifs' become chains.

But Surah Yusuf shows us that Allah can rewrite the meaning of every wound.
Your pain isn’t pointless.
Even the memories that hurt—
He can use them to raise you, cleanse you, strengthen you.

'Indeed, he...

Bismillah

This Ramadan, I pledge to guard my tongue and my heart.

I will turn my grief and sadness to Allah alone, seeking comfort in dua rather than complaints to people. No words of frustration will escape my lips except in prayer, and I will not lighten my burden by backbiting or speaking ill of others. Allah knows my pain, my struggles, and my silent battles—there is no need to seek validation or relief from anyone but Him.

It is a subtle...

WAITING

How many of your du'aas seem unanswered?
How many times have you called out to Allah SWT?

Have you seen how the earth is right before a blessed rainfall?
The skies grow dark ...sometimes frighteningly dark..
Thunders roar and lightning strikes
Then... rain falls bringing life to the earth

Just like that Allah SWT teaches you not all that is uncertain is frightening
That du'aas are like clouds forming and gathering before the ra...

Tears witnessed only by Allah have a special quality.

Just Him and you in conversation.

There is no misunderstanding, nor unhelpful advice offered. So, turn to Him who understands you better than you understand yourself.

In truly feeling your neediness and utter reliance on Him, you realise aspects of ubudiyyah (servanthood).

When circumstances make you feel low, your brokenness in front of God elevates you.
