Sometimes we deeply want to talk to that person even though we know he is non-mahram. At first it begins with simple thoughts, imagining happy moments, emotional closeness, comfort, affection, and hidden desires. We replay these thoughts in our minds again and again until they slowly become a habit.
Then after some time we begin talking about those imaginations and sharing emotions that should have remained guarded. What once existed only in the mind slowly starts appearing in actions. The things we once imagined, hugs, kisses, and intimacy, no longer feel distant. Eventually the heart begins to crave turning those fantasies into reality. This is how a single unchecked thought can slowly lead a person towards zina
First comes the zina of the eyes, then the zina of the heart, then emotional attachment, and finally the physical sin itself. Shaytan rarely destroys a person in one moment. He takes small steps until the heart becomes attached to what displeases Allah.
These things do not only affect actions. They slowly damage the heart, weaken iman, steal peace of mind, and reduce productivity. A person begins losing the sweetness of ibadah, the calmness in salah, and the purity once felt in the connection with Allah. The heart becomes restless, emotionally dependent, distracted and more vulnerable to further sins
Then it turns into a vicious cycle. Thoughts lead to attachment, attachment leads to actions, actions lead to guilt, and guilt without sincere repentance leads back to the same darkness again and again. Slowly it affects the soul, the character, the mind, and even the ability to live with clarity and discipline.
Identify the stage you are at before it pulls you further away. then sincerely return back to Allah. Pray two rak‘ahs of Salat al-Tawbah and ask Allah to purify your heart, protect your soul, and remove the attachment that is harming you.
Returning to Allah is not a loss. It is the beginning of peace, emotional healing, clarity, discipline, and restored productivity. Most importantly it is the path back to closeness with Allah, the only closeness that truly brings peace to the heart

Earlier today, I saw a fly come too close to a spider’s web. The spider didn’t waste a moment, grabbed the fly and began wrapping it. The fly struggled hard, but once it was caught, there was no escape. The spider was swift and relentless, and soon the fly was completely entangled.

Watching this reminded me of how sins can slowly trap a person. We don’t usually jump into sin right away. It starts with small steps, seemingly harmless glances, casual compromises, or just 'getting close' to something we know we should avoid. Our nafs tells us it’s fine, that we’re in control, that we won’t actually cross the line. But the truth is, the closer we go to the edge, the more likely we are to fall.

Just like the fly didn’t plan to be caught, we often don’t plan to fall into sin. But when we get too close, it becomes harder to resist and we end up slipping. That’s why we should stay away from anything that brings us near to sin. It’s not just about avoiding the sin itself, but also avoiding the things that lead to it.

May Allah make us among those who seek forgiveness when they sin, remain steadfast when tested, and return to Allah in sincere repentance when our souls call us toward wrongdoing. Ameen
    

My department received a new ultrasound machine early this year. It is an addition to our existing ultrasound machine and will tremendously help our clinic to run faster. The machine was given by the Ministry of Health on a rental basis. However, the contract stipulated that the machine can only be used in March, which is two months away from the day it arrived at our facility.

For now, we can only look at the machine while we are unable to use it. If we use it before the deadline and it malfunctions, the warranty won't apply. The cost of repair is substantial, and no sane person would be willing to bear the loss. Hence, at the moment we are scared to even go close to the machine.

This reminds me of verse 32 of Surah Al-Isra'. 

Al-Isra' 17:32

وَلَا تَقۡرَبُواْ ٱلزِّنَىٰٓۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَٰحِشَةࣰ وَسَآءَ سَبِيلࣰا

Do not go near adultery. It is truly a shameful deed and an evil way.

Marriage is a license that allows intimate relations between a man and a woman. Without it, we cannot engage in intimate relations with the opposite sex. Islam not only prohibits fornication and adultery but also prohibits any action that can lead to it. This also holds true for engaged couples. Without marriage, engagement does not allow one to overstep the boundary.

Adultery and any actions that lead to it are sins that appeal to our passion. Hence, Allah, with His Wisdom, told us to avoid going near it. We are afraid of going overboard; it is best not to approach it at all.

If only we could look at adultery and all the roads leading to it as to how we would like to avoid causing damage to a costly machine! If we can see the damage when we approach it, then we definitely will abide by the rules set by Allah.

Waiyyakum. Thank you for the comment. I agree that in this case there is difficulty in not being able to use the ultrasound machine. But in this case I want to highlight the danger of causing damage to the machine. I'm still excited at the thought of being able to use it in a few weeks time 😄

If you get near, the pull force to fall into these sin and mistakes is so powerful and great. Like almost no one can escape but small number whom Your Lord blessed. Like black hole of temptations. So don't even try, don't even close, if you see one coming... 

Run

Don't Fight with your will, Allah knows you will lose and fall to it.

Mashallah good reflection! A lot of people in America do adultery.

Anyone who ponders on what Allah swt has legislated in the Quran and Sunnah  will very soon come to realize that whenever Allah SWT likes for something to be done he opens all the doors to facilitate it to be done. 
For example,  Allah SWT loves for us to pray, so he made it easy to pray regardless of what situation you are in.   If in fear, you can pray the fear prayer,. If you unsure the direction of the qiblah, you are forgiven for praying in the wrong direction. If there is no water for wudu, dry ablution or tayamum becomes allowed with dust. If your traveling and unable to pray on time, or fully, shortening and combining becomes permissible. Making it so easy  for us to do at all times shows us how much he loves for it to be done.
On the other hand, when he dislike something, he closes all the doors leading to it. For example. he dislikes the sin of fornication. In order to close all the doors leading to it, he prohibited looking at non-mahrams of the other gender with lust,  prohibited woman from softening their voice when speaking to men to not show vulnerability that men may find attractive, and advised us away from unnecessary mixing especially when there is fear of temptation. These above verses capture some of that divine wisdom that is easy to see for anyone who contemplates the Shariah of Islam.
