نعمۃ النسیان 
آج جب میں سورۃ التکاثر کی آیت "ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ" پر غور کر رہی تھی، تو دل میں خیال ابھرا: "بھول جانا" بھی کی ایک نعمت ہے۔
اللہ نے مجھے نسیان کی صلاحیت عطا کی، لیکن میں نے اسے اپنی زندگی کا سب سے پیچیدہ اور خودساختہ اصول بنا لیا۔
میری بھولنے کی فہرست انتخابی ہے۔ 
جو چیزیں مجھے شرمندہ کریں، جن کے ذریعے مجھے اپنی کمزوریوں کا اعتراف کرنا پڑے، جن کے باعث مجھے اپنے رب کے حضور جواب دینا پڑے۔۔۔ میں اکثر انہیں فوراً بھول جاتی ہوں۔
اور جو یادیں میرے نفس کو خوش کریں، غرور کو غذا دیں، اور خود پسندی کی بنیاد رکھیں، انہیں میں اپنے حافظے کے سب سے مضبوط خانے میں محفوظ کر لیتی ہوں۔
آج اس آیت پر غور کرتے ہوئے دل میں سوال جاگا:
کیا قیامت کے دن میرے بھولنے کا بھی حساب ہوگا؟
کیا وہ دن جب میں نے کسی کی دل آزاری کو سہولت سے بھلا دیا؟
وہ لمحے جب میں نے کی ہوئی توبہ کو دوبارہ توڑ دیا؟
وہ موڑ جب میں اللہ کے احسانات کو اپنی چالاکی اور ذہانت کا نتیجہ سمجھ بیٹھی۔۔۔ کیا یہ سب کسی کھاتے میں لکھا جاتا ہوگا؟
میں نے سوچا۔۔۔ ہاں، ضرور ہوگا۔
کیونکہ نعمت صرف وہ نہیں جو دکھائی دے، نعمت وہ بھی ہے جو چھپی ہوئی ہو، جس کی قدر نہ کی جائے مگر پھر بھی عطا رہے۔
میرے رب کا نظام کتنا کامل ہے! اس نے بھولنے کی طاقت دی، مگر ساتھ ہی یاد رکھنے کے بے شمار سہارے بھی رکھ دیے۔
قرآن کو ذکر بنایا۔۔۔ یعنی یاد دہانی۔
ضمیر کو اندر رکھا۔۔۔ تاکہ جھنجھوڑ سکے۔
کائنات کو نشانیوں سے بھر دیا۔۔۔ تاکہ راستہ کبھی بھول نہ جائے۔
شاید مجھ سے رب پوچھے:
"میں نے تجھے بھولنے کی قوت اس لیے دی تھی کہ تو زخموں سے نکل سکے، لیکن تو نے اسی قوت سے میری نعمتیں بھلا دیں۔
تجھے دوسروں کے قصور تو یاد رہتے تھے، مگر میرے احسانات کیوں بھول گئی؟
میں نے نسیان کو رحمت بنایا تھا، اور تو نے اسے اپنے لیے غفلت کا ذریعہ بنا لیا۔"
اس آیت نے مجھے سکھایا ہے کہ بھولنے کا صحیح مصرف یہ ہے کہ انسان وہ سب بھلا دے جو دل کو سخت کرتا ہے، اور وہ سب یاد رکھے جو دل کو نرم، شکر گزار اور اللہ کے قریب کرتا ہے۔
نسیان ایک نعمت ہے لیکن صرف اُس وقت جب اسے حکمت کے ساتھ استعمال کیا جائے۔ یہ وہ چاقو ہے جو ناسور زخم کاٹ سکتا ہے، مگر غلط ہاتھ میں ہو تو دل کی حیات بھی چھین لیتا ہے۔
اللہ ہمیں نسیان کی اس نعمت کو صحیح جگہ استعمال کرنے کی توفیق عطا فرمائے، اور ہمیں ان نعمتوں کا شکر گزار بنا دے جنہیں ہم اکثر بھول جاتے ہیں۔

Jazakumullahu kulla khairan Tahira aapi. 

I often think about this verse when I am about to buy something. I ask myself: Do I actually need this, or is this just another form of excess (israf)?

Living in a culture that constantly encourages us to buy more, this question feels increasingly important. It is common to see wardrobes overflowing with clothes, yet people still feel they have "nothing to wear."

Scholars explain that na‘im includes even the simplest things we often take for granted: a glass of cold water, some dates, safety, good health, time etc. We won't only be asked about how we acquired these blessings, but also how we used them. Every blessing carries responsibility, so we should be mindful in its use۔

Assalam o Alaikum! It's my first reflection here, and I'm happy to share, we don't remember the blessings of Allah has granted us, even a glass of water, one time food and fine one room is more than enough to thank Allah, but we have way more than it, then why we don't thank Allah, why we have so much of the blessings, but we don't give sadaqah, why we think that our needs has overcome us, why we don't believe in Allah who provided us, In our mother's womb through blood, then when we were child, Allah made our parents the source of our rizq, now we grew up and wonder who will provide us, listen! Our needs will never end, try to save a little money and help them who are actually "needy". Indeed, you will be Questioned about your blessings

Barakallahu Feeki 

Since joining the QuranReflect community, I have always felt it to be a profound blessing ! one that we will surely be questioned about, just as Allah reminds us in Qur’an 102:8: “Then, on that Day, you will definitely be questioned about the blessing.”

Today, I received a notification that someone liked one of my past reflections. Whenever that happens, I usually go back to reread what I wrote. That moment of returning feels like a small invitation to reflect again. But today, something different happened. As I revisited the reflection, it felt as though I was reading it for the very first time fresh, direct, and speaking to my heart in a new way. It almost didn’t feel like something I had written; rather, it felt like something gifted to me.

In that moment, I was struck by an insight: just as our reflections return to us in this world, our deeds — both good and bad — will return to us in the next. The Qur’an tells us in 99:4 that the earth will recount everything, like stepping on soft mud that preserves every footprint. Nothing is lost. Nothing fades. Everything is recorded.

May Allah grant us the strength, sincerity, and willpower to continue performing righteous deeds, and may He make our past actions a source of light for us when we meet them again. Ameen.

Masha'Allah - so touching. I've been mind-blow by how some reflections arrive at a perfect time with other needs them, just like when opening mushaf and finding the guidance you need most. But never expected what you just shared in encountering your own reflection when you need it most, and as if it wasn't by you. Subhan Allah.

How does staying in a comfort zone limit our potential?

When we spend our days on the couch, scrolling through reels, it feels like change is happening—but only for a moment. This kind of instant gratification fades quickly, leaving us empty. In contrast, reading books creates lasting mental pictures and deeper understanding, enriching our minds over time.

I once collected books passionately, building a library filled with knowledge. But I kept waiting for the 'right time' to read them—when my library was perfectly set up, when life was less busy. That time never came. I delayed for hours, then days, trapped in the illusion of comfort. Procrastination is like this: it convinces us to wait for perfection, but that perfection never arrives.

The hardest moment came when I had to leave my books behind. Books are more than objects; they hold stories, ideas, and feelings. Losing them felt like losing pieces of myself. It was a painful reminder that when we don’t value and use our blessings—whether time, health, or skills—they can be taken away.

Looking back, I realize progress doesn’t come from ideal conditions. It comes from dedication and stepping out of comfort. When I stayed comfortable, I delayed growth. When I embraced effort, I succeeded.
 As the saying goes, 'Success lies outside the comfort zone.'


Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, 'Take advantage of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your illness, your riches before your poverty, your free time before your work, and your life before your death.'

There are stories from seerah about proactivity with minimum resources and procrastination as well 

The Story of Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (RA) During the Expedition of Tabuk
Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (RA), who faced a challenge when his camel became too weak to continue. Rather than turn back, he chose to walk on foot through the scorching desert, determined to contribute to the cause.

When the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) saw him approaching, he said: 'Let it be Abu Dharr.' Upon his arrival, the Prophet (ﷺ) remarked: 'He walks alone, he will die alone, and he will be resurrected alone.' (Musnad Ahmad, Al-Hakim)

Abu Dharr’s journey teaches us the importance of persistence in the face of adversity, sacrifice for a noble cause, and individual responsibility. His proactive participation, despite limited resources, is a reminder that true success lies in our faith and commitment, not in material means.


story of Hazrat K'ab ra 

The story of Ka’b ibn Malik (RA) during the Expedition of Tabuk offers a profound lesson on procrastination and its consequences. Ka'b (RA) initially intended to join the expedition but allowed comfort and delay to keep him behind. He believed there was always more time to prepare, a common trap of procrastination. As he rationalized his delay, he missed the opportunity to contribute and faced the emotional and spiritual toll of his actions when the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) questioned him.

This period of regret led Ka'b (RA) to sincerely repent, and Allah, in His mercy, forgave him. His story teaches that procrastination can result in missed opportunities and regret, but through sincere repentance, responsibility, and effort, one can find redemption and growth. It serves as a reminder to take immediate action, overcome comfort zones, and prioritize commitments, for procrastination often brings more harm than good.

'Then He turned to them so they could repent. Indeed, Allah is the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful.' (Quran 9:118)

Masha Allah, thank you for this reflections sister... I've been struggling with procrastination and the deen last couple years... Finding this on the first day of restarting habit of reading the quran...

Have you ever met a truly honorable person? One clear sign of their integrity is that they always keep their promises; they don’t lie or issue empty threats. Now, if such a person keeps their word, what then of Allah, the Most Honorable? This means that whatever He has warned us about will certainly come to pass.

Reflecting on Quran 102:8, 'Then, on that Day, you will definitely be questioned about ˹your worldly˺ pleasures,' I am compelled to ask myself: 
why don’t I feel the full weight of this verse if I truly believe in the Day of Judgment? 
Have I allowed myself to be clouded by a false hope that Allah’s mercy will cover my shortcomings without question?

But even if Allah’s mercy is vast, how can I be certain that I will be among those who receive it? One thing is undeniable: we will all be questioned and held accountable for every blessing bestowed upon us. So why am I heedless of this inevitable day and the warnings that accompany it?

Or Maybe I am an acomplice in  Quran 2:8: 'And there are some who say, 'We believe in Allah and the Last Day,' yet they are not ˹true˺ believers.' Are we genuinely understanding the profound significance of the Day of Judgment, or have we allowed ourselves to become passive and complacent?

Just as an honorable person holds themselves to the highest standard of truth and integrity, we must recognize that Allah's warnings are not mere words. It’s time to wake up from our heedlessness, to question whether our belief is sincere, and to genuinely prepare for the reality that awaits us. Let’s strive to be among those who are truly mindful of that Day.

You are absolutely correct when you say that Allah Subhanallah Wataa’la shall question us about our deeds on the day of judgement. Merely saying that we are believers will not be enough. Therefore, it is high time we The Muslim Ummah should introspect and see how many commands of Allah Subhanallah hu Wataa’la we follow and how many commands we sideline by mere justifications to please ourselves or even others for that matter. 

#QuranicMaxims Day 6:

'Do not forget your share of the worldly life' (28:77)

This is telling me that Allah does not want to overly burden us. We are free to live our lives in this world and enjoy the blessings that Allah has provided for us. It's not a zero sum game between dunya and Allah - we don't have to live lives of misery.

However, concurrently, these blessings are not the be-all and end-all. We're not hedonists. We shouldn't overstep our share that Allah has set out for us nor should we forget the bigger picture. The blessings of this world, the ones that we appreciate and the ones that we overlook, are all tests and we will be held to account for them. 

Contrast Qarun with Prophet Suleyman AS. They were were both given this world. This was both a blessing and a test. Qarun in his arrogance failed and Suleyman AS passed.

We all have our own proportioned shares from Allah. Some of us are rich and some of us are poor. Rich people can give way more in charity than poor people. But a poor person can smile at his neighbour or move a harmful object out of the world and that is his charity. Allah has levelled the playing field. So it's not about what you have, it's about what you do in the situation that you are in. 

The more we are given, the more we will have to account for on the Day of Judgement and Allah in His perfect justice will judge us all accordingly.

That's a useful addition to the issue: that what we are given is a trial and may become a torment. A key word for this discussion is gratitude, as that makes enjoyment of blessings a cause for reward in the Next Life.

Imagine that everywhere you go throughout the day, there is a treasure chest coming along with you. 

Every time you have a desire for something that is unlawful, deny yourself and imagine that you are placing it inside of this treasure chest. And then try to forget about it. 

Now imagine reaching Jennah and opening this treasure chest that you carried around with you your whole life. Do you think you will feel deprived of anything in Jennah?

Sometimes I think shaytan wants to convince us that we will lose something if we deprive ourselves of our desires. He wants us to forget about the Akhirah and only remember the here and now.

But the life of this world is fleeting and there is nothing that will ever truly fulfill ones desires. Once one desire is fulfilled, it eventually gets boring, and another desire comes along. And fulfilling unlawful desires often has unwanted and unpleasant consequences in this life as well, not just the Akhirah.

But what if you could use those desires as an investment into your Akhirah? What if you use those desires as an opportunity to show Allah that you truly fear Him and that you trust His promises?

When you feel overwhelmed, you can say, 'Oh Allah, I deny myself of this worldly pleasure solely for your sake. I fear your punishment and I seek your reward. Please do not deprive me of enterance into Jennah.'

Then imagine yourself taking that desire and placing it in your treasure chest. It's a sacrifice that is not lost and forgotten. Allah is aware of even a mustard seed hidden inside a rock - Surely He is aware of His slave diligently and painstakingly fighting his desires for His sake.

You have the opportunity to exchange something temporary and fleeting for something that is permanent and everlasting. It's an investment that you won't regret!

Continued from last reflection on Surah At-Takaathur. 

Allah has made us seekers. Restlessness is written into the heart. No matter how much wealth we gather or comfort we build, a voice inside keeps asking: Is this all? That is not weakness — it is design. The Qur’an calls it fiṭrah, the pure nature that always points us back to Him.


I was always a questioner. My heart could not stay silent. But there was a time when I asked in the wrong direction. My questions were scattered, chasing after answers that could never satisfy. Each pursuit only left me more anxious, more weary, until I grew tired of my own searching. Yet even then, the thirst did not die. 


This is the mark of the seeker — the traveler who stumbles, gets lost, even despairs, but cannot rest until they find truth. 

Imam al-Ghazali said: 'The thirst for uncovering the truth is an instinct placed within me by Allah; I could not silence it, nor could I quench it except through seeking.' 

And Ibn al-Qayyim wrote: 'In the heart is a restlessness that cannot be calmed except by turning to Allah.'


The real turning point comes when we learn to ask the right questions. Not 'How can I stretch this world to satisfy me?' but 'Why was I placed here at all?' When the questions change, the path changes.


And that path is the path of yaqīn. It begins with ʿilm al-yaqīn — knowledge of certainty, when truth is known. It rises to ʿayn al-yaqīn — vision of certainty, when the unseen feels near. It ends in ḥaqq al-yaqīn — truth of certainty, when faith is no longer information but lived reality. We are all seekers on this journey, restless travelers who will not find peace until the soul meets its Lord.

Ma shaa Allah Lahawla walaquwata illa billah 

Bismillah

People often say they believe in Allah and the Day of Judgment, but much of that belief remains shallow — words spoken on the tongue, not convictions that shape the heart. The Qur’an captures this blindness in Sūrah al-Takāthur:


'Competition for more distracted you, until you visited the graves. No! If you only knew with ʿilm al-yaqīn (knowledge of certainty). You will surely see the Hellfire. Then you will surely see it with ʿayn al-yaqīn (the vision of certainty). Then, on that Day, you will surely be asked about every blessing.' (102:1–8)


Here Allah unveils the journey of faith.

	•	ʿIlm al-Yaqīn – the knowledge of certainty. This is when faith is accepted because revelation has told us. It sits in the mind but may not penetrate the soul. Imām al-Ghazālī explained: 'ʿIlm al-yaqīn is like hearing of fire from a trustworthy source — you believe it exists, but you have neither seen it nor felt its heat.' (Iḥyāʾ ʿUlūm al-Dīn, Book 1).

	•	ʿAyn al-Yaqīn – the vision of certainty. This is when faith becomes vivid, as if the eyes can see it. Ghazālī likened it to seeing the smoke and flames after hearing of fire. At this stage, the Hereafter feels near, and a person begins to live with awareness.

	•	Ḥaqq al-Yaqīn – the truth of certainty. Ibn al-Qayyim explained: 'ʿIlm al-yaqīn is hearing of honey, ʿayn al-yaqīn is seeing it, and ḥaqq al-yaqīn is tasting it. Only the last removes every doubt.' (Madārij al-Sālikīn, vol. 3,). This is when reality is directly experienced, undeniable and overwhelming. For most people, this comes at death: 'And the throes of death will bring the truth: ‘This is what you were trying to escape.’' (Qur’an 50:19).


The tragedy is that many stop at the first level. They carry ʿilm al-yaqīn but mistake it for the highest. They know about the Hereafter, but they do not live as if it is right before their eyes. They let wealth, competition, and distractions veil the heart, when the Qur’an is calling them to polish it until it reflects the unseen more clearly than the seen. 

Ibn al-Qayyim said: 'The heart is like a mirror: desires and distractions cloud it, but with dhikr and obedience it is polished until it reflects the reality of the unseen.' (al-Fawāʾid).


In the end, this life will be remembered as a fleeting hour, a passing dream. Yet in that short hour lies the test that shapes eternity. The blindness of people is not that they deny Allah, but that they live as if His promise is far away. But Allah reminds: 'You will surely know, you will surely see, and you will surely be asked.'

Closing reflection: 
Faith begins as knowledge,
but knowledge alone drifts with the wind.
It must grow into vision,
until the unseen feels near.
And it must end in truth,
when no veil remains between the soul and eternity.
