حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ ذَرٍّ، ح قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ ذَرٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِجِبْرِيلَ ‏"‏ أَلاَ تَزُورُنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا ‏"‏ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ ‏[quran sura="19" aya_start="64" aya_end="64"]{‏وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلاَّ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا‏}‏ الآيَةَ‏.‏

باب ذِكْرِ الْمَلاَئِكَةِ

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) asked Gabriel, "Why don't you visit us more often than you do?" Then the following 
Holy Verse was revealed (in this respect):-- "And we (angels) descend not but by the order of your 
Lord. To Him belong what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between those two and your 
Lord was never forgetful." (19.64)

حَدَّثَنَا خَلاَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ ذَرٍّ، سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ يَا جِبْرِيلُ مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَزُورَنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا ‏"‏‏.‏ فَنَزَلَتْ ‏[quran sura="19" aya_start="64" aya_end="64"]{‏وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلاَّ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا‏}‏ إِلَى آخِرِ الآيَةِ‏.‏ قَالَ هَذَا كَانَ الْجَوَابَ لِمُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم‏.‏

باب قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى ‏<a href="https://quran.com/37/171-171">{‏وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا الْمُرْسَلِينَ}</a>

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Gabriel, what prevents you. from visiting us more often than you do?" Then this 
Verse was revealed:--'And we angels descend not but by Command of your Lord. To Him belongs 
what is before us and what is behind us..' (19.64) So this was the answer to Muhammad.

“And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves – the Messengers”

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَرَأَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِيمَا أُمِرَ، وَسَكَتَ فِيمَا أُمِرَ ‏[quran sura="19" aya_start="64" aya_end="64"]{‏وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا‏}‏ ‏[quran sura="33" aya_start="21" aya_end="21"]{‏لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ‏}‏‏.‏

باب الْجَهْرِ بِقِرَاءَةِ صَلاَةِ الْفَجْرِ

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:

The Prophet (ﷺ) recited aloud in the prayers in which he was ordered to do so and quietly in the prayers in 
which he was ordered to do so. "And your Lord is not forgetful." "Verily there was a good example 
for you in the ways of the Prophet."

To recite aloud in the Fajr (early morning) prayer.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ ذَرٍّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِجِبْرِيلَ ‏"‏ مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَزُورَنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا فَنَزَلَتْ ‏[quran sura="19" aya_start="64" aya_end="64"]{‏وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلاَّ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا‏}‏‏"‏

باب ‏<a href="https://quran.com/18/60-60">{‏وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِفَتَاهُ لاَ أَبْرَحُ حَتَّى أَبْلُغَ مَجْمَعَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ أَوْ أَمْضِيَ حُقُبًا‏}</a>‏

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said to Gabriel, "What prevents you from visiting us more often than you visit us now?" 
So there was revealed:-- 
'And we (angels) descend not but by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us 
and what is behind us...'(19.64)

The Statement of Allah the Exalted: "And (remember) when Mūsa (Moses) said to his boy-servant: 'I will not give up (travelling) until I reach the junction of the two seas or (until) I spend years and years in travelling." (V.18:60)
