ہمارے دور کا سب سے بڑا وقت ضائع کرنے والا عمل **سوشل میڈیا پر لاپرواہی کے ساتھ scroll کرنا** ہے۔

ایک عام انسان روزانہ تقریباً **108 منٹ** سوشل میڈیا پر گزارتا ہے، جو لگ بھگ **380 میٹر** مسلسل چلنے کے برابر ہے۔

ماہِ رجب آ چکا ہے، اور ہم رمضان سے صرف **دو مہینے** دور ہیں۔
اب وقت ہے کہ ہم سوشل میڈیا کا استعمال کم کریں، اور **اللہ کے کلام — قرآن** کے ساتھ زیادہ وقت گزاریں۔

ہم میں سے بہت سے لوگ وقت اور برف فروش کی مشہور تمثیل جانتے ہیں۔

ایک آدمی تپتی دھوپ میں بازار میں کھڑا برف بیچ رہا ہوتا ہے۔ شدید گرمی کے نیچے اس کی برف پگھل رہی ہوتی ہے، اور وہ بے بسی کے عالم میں پکار اٹھتا ہے:
“اس شخص پر رحم کرو جس کی برف پگھل رہی ہے!”

ہر گزرتے لمحے کے ساتھ وہ اپنا سرمایہ کھو رہا ہوتا ہے - یعنی برف۔
اور ہر لمحہ، چاہے وہ برف بیچے یا نہ بیچے، وہ پگھلتی ہی چلی جاتی ہے۔
یہ وقت کی تمثیل ہے، اور اس بات کی کہ وہ برف کی طرح کتنی تیزی سے ختم ہو جاتا ہے۔

اس سورت میں ہمیں بتایا گیا ہے کہ پوری انسانیت خسارے میں ہے، سوائے ان لوگوں کے جو ایمان لائے، نیک اعمال کیے، اور ایک دوسرے کو حق اور صبر کی تلقین کرتے رہے۔

جو لوگ وقت کی قدر کرتے ہیں، اسے سمجھداری سے استعمال کرتے ہیں، اور ہر لمحے کو اس کا حق دیتے ہیں، وہی کامیاب ہوتے ہیں - بالکل اس ماہر تاجر کی طرح جو برف کو مکمل پگھلنے سے پہلے بیچ لیتا ہے۔

اسے “واجب الوقت” کہا جاتا ہے، یعنی موجودہ لمحے کی ذمہ داری۔ دوسرے لفظوں میں، ہر لمحے کو اس کی درست سمت دینا اور اس کا حق ادا کرنا۔
میں خود کو یاد دلاتا ہوں کہ مجھے اپنے وقت کے استعمال میں زیادہ سوچ سمجھ کر اور ارادے کے ساتھ چلنے کی ضرورت ہے۔ یہ کہنا آسان ہے، کرنا مشکل۔ میری اپنی آزمائشیں ہیں، اور آپ کی اپنی۔ مگر ہم ایک دوسرے کو اپنی ترجیحات کے بارے میں نصیحت کر سکتے ہیں۔

یہ اشعار ابن الجوزی کی طرف منسوب کیے جاتے ہیں، اور بعض کے نزدیک امام ذہبی کی طرف (اللہ ان دونوں پر رحم فرمائے):

عقارب المنايا تلسع، وخدران جسم الأمل يمنع الإحساس، وماء الحياة في إناء العمر يرشح بالأنفاس

“موت کے بچھو ڈنک مارتے ہیں،
اور امید کے نشے میں ڈوبا ہوا جسم احساس سے محروم رہتا ہے،
اور زندگی کا پانی، عمر کے برتن میں، ہر سانس کے ساتھ آہستہ آہستہ رسنے لگتا ہے۔”

یہ طاقتور منظر کشی اس آیت کے مفہوم کے تحت نہایت قابلِ فہم ہے۔ یہ ہمیں ہمارے جسم کو ایک برتن کی طرح دکھاتی ہے، جس میں پانی بھرا ہوا ہے، اور ہر سانس کے ساتھ اس میں سے کچھ نہ کچھ کم ہوتا چلا جاتا ہے۔
کچھ لوگ ایسے تھے جنہوں نے وقت کی حقیقت کو پہچان لیا، اور اسی لیے انہوں نے ہر لمحے کو اپنی آخرت میں سرمایہ بنانے کے لیے استعمال کیا۔ امام جمال الدین القاسمی انہی میں سے ایک تھے۔

جمال الدین القاسمی (وفات: 1332ھ / 1914ء) صرف 49 برس کی عمر میں وفات پا گئے، مگر اپنے پیچھے سو سے زائد تصانیف چھوڑ گئے۔ وہ دن رات تدریس میں مشغول رہتے تھے۔
ایک دن جب انہوں نے لوگوں کو قہوہ خانوں میں بیٹھے، کھیل تماشے میں وقت ضائع کرتے دیکھا، تو افسوس کرتے ہوئے کہا:

كم أتمنى أن يكون الوقت مما يباع لأشتري من هؤلاء جميعا

“کاش وقت بھی بیچا جا سکتا، تو میں ان سب کا وقت خرید لیتا۔”

وقت کی قدر کو پہچاننا، نیت کے ساتھ اس میں سرمایہ کاری کرنا، اور اسے اس کام میں صرف کرنا جو ہمیں اللہ کے قریب کرے: یہی اصل مقصد ہے۔#TrueSuccess ​

وقت کی قدر: رمضان کا چھپا ہوا خزانہ
رمضان آیا… اور جیسے ہی آیا، وقت کی رفتار بدل گئی۔ ہر دن بھاگنے کی بجائے تھم سا گیا، فجر کے بعد کی دھیمی روشنی، عصر کے بعد کی خاموشی، افطار سے پہلے کی بےچین دعائیں، قرآن کی تلاوت کے درمیان گزرتے ہوئے وہ انجان لمحے… یہ سب ہم سے کچھ کہنے لگے
'اب میں قیمتی ہوں… مجھ سے وہ لو جو باقی مہینوں میں کھو گیا تھا۔ میں لمحہ ہوں… میں وقت ہوں… اور میں تمہیں رب سے جوڑنے آیا ہوں!'
ہم نے دیکھا:  
سحری کے چند لمحے اذکار میں گزرے، تو پورا دن ہلکا لگنے لگا۔  
قرآن کی ایک آیت صبح کے وقت پڑھی، اور دل شام تک روشن رہا۔  
افطار سے ایک منٹ پہلے مانگی گئی دعا، دل کے سب پردے ہٹا گئی۔  
یہ وہی لمحے تھے جنہیں ہم باقی سالوں میں ضائع کر دیتے تھے، اور رمضان نے ہمیں پہلی بار بتایا کہ:  
'وقت صرف گھڑی کی سوئیاں نہیں، یہ تمہاری زندگی کے صفحات ہیں جن پر تمہارے اعمال لکھے جا رہے ہیں۔'
ہم نے جانا کہ وقت ایک 'نعمت' ہے  اور اس نعمت پر بھی پوچھا جائے گا۔  
رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا:  
'دو نعمتیں ایسی ہیں جن میں بہت سے لوگ خسارے میں رہتے ہیں: صحت اور فراغت۔' (صحیح بخاری)
رمضان نے سکھایا کہ فرصت کوئی معمولی چیز نہیں بلکہ وہ لمحہ ہے جو یا تو نیکی بن سکتا ہے، یا حسرت۔  
ہم نے محسوس کیا:  
جب فجر کا وقت گزرتا ہے، اور ہم سوتے رہتے ہیں… صرف وقت نہیں جاتا، ایک 'موقع' جاتا ہے… ایک 'تقرب کا لمحہ' جاتا ہے…  
جب ہم دن کا وقت فضول باتوں میں گنوا دیتے ہیں… صرف منٹ نہیں گرتے، بلکہ 'ثواب کے سکے' چھن جاتے ہیں۔
رمضان میں وقت کو ہم نے شمار کیا… 'ابھی دو رکعت پڑھ سکتے ہیں، ابھی ایک سورت سن سکتے ہیں، ابھی ایک دعا مانگ سکتے ہیں…'  
اور جب عید آئی… تو لگا جیسے وقت پر بھی پردہ پڑ گیا ہو… وہی وقت جو روشنی تھا، اب پھر سے بوجھ لگنے لگا۔  تب دل نے دھیرے سے کہا:  
'تم نے رمضان میں وقت کو عبادت بنایا، کیا اب دوبارہ اسے غفلت میں بہا دو گی؟'
قرآن میں وقت کی قسم کھائی گئی:  
'وَالْعَصْرِ ۝ إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ' (العصر: 1-2)  
'زمانے کی قسم، یقیناً انسان خسارے میں ہے۔'  
رمضان میں یہ آیت مجھے بہت گہری محسوس ہونے لگی… ہم واقعی خسارے میں رہتے ہیں جب وقت صرف دنیا کے لیے استعمال کریں، اور رب کو بھول جائیں۔
اب سوال یہ ہے:  
رمضان جا چکا… کیا ہم اب بھی دن کے چند لمحے رب کے نام کر سکیں گے؟ کیا ہم وقت کے اس قیمتی احساس کو باقی گیارہ مہینوں میں بھی زندہ رکھ سکیں گے؟ یا صرف رمضان کا وقت ہی مقدس تھا، اور باقی سب ہماری مرضی؟
بس یہی دعا ہے یا اللہ! ہمیں وقت کی قدر عطا فرما، ہمیں ہر لمحہ تیری رضا کے لیے جینے کی توفیق دے، اور جب ہم گھڑی دیکھیں، تو دل میں یہ خیال آئے 'اس وقت کے بدلے میں کل میں کیا لے کر جاؤں گا؟' 
آمین، یا رب العالمین!

دعا ہے کہ ہم سب کو زندگی کی ہر ساعت کو نیکی میں بدلنے کی توفیق ملے۔ آپ کے خوبصورت کلمات کا شکریہ۔


By time...

Time moves silently, yet it witnesses everything. 
Every moment that passes becomes part of our story. 
Days turn into years almost unnoticed, carrying with them the choices we make, the words we speak, and the intentions we hold.

By invoking time, the Qur’an draws our attention to something we often overlook: life itself is measured in moments that never return.

These two verses, just remind me of how valuable time is. 

Time that is lost cannot be regained.  It moves on with, or without us. 

This Dunya is just a temporary stay, it will only have felt like we stayed no more than an hour on this Earth. 

Sometimes, there are times in my day where I don't have anything planned out, so I just go scrolling on Youtube wasting my time. I then reflect on these moments realizing I could've done something like Dhikr, istighfar, Reading Quran, Watching a lecture etc. We don't realize how much of a blessing time really is. I can't emphasize how important this is. 

We must act like every day may be our last. I wonder with this mindset, how much better I, and many of us out there would be using our time. You never know when your time is up, one day you might be perfectly fine and the next you might be in your grave.

Every second brings us closer to the end of our lives. If we don't use our time well, we'll face serious consequences. To succeed, we have to work hard, but failure comes without us even trying. It's like a story about a man who learned a lesson from an ice seller in the market. The ice was melting, and the seller asked for mercy. This made the man realize that time passes quickly, just like the ice melts away. If we waste our time or do bad things, we'll lose out. Making the most of our time means believing in truth, doing good deeds, and sharing wisdom with others. When we deeply understand these truths, we naturally want to help others understand too.

Truth is the backbone of the Muslim.

Truth is contained within the word Haqq. Allah commands us at various moments in the Quran to establish the Haqq on this Earth. (see: Al-Asr)

This ayah made me visualize putting the truth in a heavy, impactful ball. And then throwing it at the weak, crumbled wooden shack that is falsehood.

But what is the ball of truth? The very next verse:

وَلَهُۥ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَمَنۡ عِندَهُۥ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ عَنۡ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَلَا يَسۡتَحۡسِرُونَ

(Abdul Haleem)
Everyone in the heavens and earth belongs to Him, and those that are with Him are never too proud to worship Him, nor do they grow weary;

-Surah Al-Anbiya', Ayah 19

Or perhaps the Ball of Truth is the Qur'an itself. But then I imagine something more like a Meteor crashing through that same shack.

And the crumbling wall is all of the lies (rejecting a day where all our deeds are put on the scale?), deceptions (Pharaoh saying 'I am your lord the most high'), misnomers (son of God) that are all created and related by mankind themselves.

This is truly the blessing and mercy of the Qur'an. The revelation of Allah breaks down and destroys falsehood in one fell swoop.

Its up to us to heed the warning.

This reflection really brings this idea of hurling the truth against falsehood to life. JAK.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

Ibn Kathir reported: Al-Shafi’i, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “If the people were to reflect upon Surat al-‘Asr, it would be enough for them.”

Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr 103:1

With the passage of time I find myself often reflecting upon this concise, short yet profoundly deep Surah and along with that I also find myself contemplating why this Surah would be ‘enough’ for us. 

I look towards the life of the the Messenger of Allah, born without a father,  he lost his mother at around 6 years old, his grandfather at 8 and he went to live with his uncle Abu Talib. Spending his youth as an honest and truthful person, he  was a shepherd. Who would have known what would be in store for this trustworthy man known for his excellent  character. An orphan who was unable to read and write. 

At twenty-five he (peace be upon him) married his first wife Khadijah, at 40 years he attained prophethood. Both himself and the first Muslims were tortured and boycotted, some of them had to leave Makkah for Ethiopia. His wife passed, his uncle passed, he was pelted and disrespected in Ta’if. Within the most difficult days Allah SWT elevated him on the journey of Isra Wal Miraj.Along came the fixed commandment of salah, a place of refuge for souls tested and trialed, for souls given blessings and joy to redirect their minds and souls as to what is their purpose! 

He was forced to leave his beloved home - Makkah and it took some time to settle in Madinah. No one could know how much he would settle. 

An unexpected battle 3-1 unprepared, but the example of a small society with huge faith who defeated an army which Arabia had not seen the likes of before. Shortly another battle Uhud, a few fell short in completely obeying the messenger of Allah peace be upon him which gave them an unexpected loss.  Marriages and the deaths of all his children except for his daughter Fatimah who only outlived him slightly. 

A communal society, a deep love for the leader who became more beloved to them than even their parents and children. Whose example was that before he sought help from the creation he peace and blessings be upon him went to Allah (Dua). 

Other battles and conquests, treaties and broken ones. Though holding power, patience before umrah, victory without a battle, conquest of Makkah. A final sermon, and a fever which became his illness, from 40-63 years of age. His mission complete. 

‘The salah! Salah! And thinking always good of Allah was his concern for his ummah who grew far and wide. Alas he took his last breath in the arms of his beloved wife A’isha may Allah be pleased with her.

The blessed prophet peace be upon him his life very short in comparison to the prophets peace be upon them all who came before him.

A very short life, with much to do. Thus, we should at least follow his example for our lives are short too. Perhaps this is the best way one can capitalise upon the limited time we have left is through contemplating his example. 

None of us can be a prophet but we are his ummah to whom the Qur’an was sent and his way an example of how to use our time.

Every single human being is in a state of loss, and Allah swears by time itself so that no heart can turn away from that reality. The only ones who escape it are those who combine four things: genuine faith, righteous deeds, reminding each other of truth, and holding each other to patience through the difficulties that come with living that truth. 

Imam Al-Shafi’i , may Allah have mercy on him, said, “If the people were to reflect upon Surah al-‘Asr, it would be enough for them.” (Tafsir ibn Kathir)

May Allah make us people who carry all four of these qualities, and who help those around us carry them too. Ameen

Reflection question:
If I saw time as a sacred trust from Allah, how would that change the way I use just the next hour?

Answer:
I may use my time productively, like how I always do with my work. With work, the employer trusts me to use my work time productively and produce something that actually help the company grow. To think about it thoroughly, I need to do the exact same thing towards myself, since I'm my own boss. May Allah guide me for doing lots of good deeds and be a humble human that can please Him.
