ويستعجلونك بالعذاب ولن يخلف الله وعده وان يوما عند ربك كالف سنة مما تعدون ٤٧

وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلْعَذَابِ وَلَن يُخْلِفَ ٱللَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥ ۚ وَإِنَّ يَوْمًا عِندَ رَبِّكَ كَأَلْفِ سَنَةٍۢ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ ٤٧

وَیَسْتَعْجِلُوْنَكَ

بِالْعَذَابِ

وَلَنْ

یُّخْلِفَ

اللّٰهُ

وَعْدَهٗ ؕ

وَاِنَّ

یَوْمًا

عِنْدَ

رَبِّكَ

كَاَلْفِ

سَنَةٍ

مِّمَّا

تَعُدُّوْنَ

۟

اور (اے نبی ﷺ !) یہ لوگ عذاب کے بارے میں آپ سے جلدی مچا رہے ہیں اور اللہ اپنے وعدے کی ہرگز خلاف ورزی نہیں کرے گا اور یقیناً ایک دن آپ ﷺ کے رب کے نزدیک ایک ہزار برس کی طرح ہے اس حساب سے جو گنتی تم کرتے ہو

In this reading, the point is made to the Prophet (ﷺ) about people in general.

يَعُدُّونَ

yaʿuddūna

“by their reckoning”

This reading has the third person plural, as at the beginning of the ayah (concerning the unbelievers).

وضاحت

The two readings amount to the same meaning [Makki].
