واذا طلقتم النساء فبلغن اجلهن فلا تعضلوهن ان ينكحن ازواجهن اذا تراضوا بينهم بالمعروف ذالك يوعظ به من كان منكم يومن بالله واليوم الاخر ذالكم ازكى لكم واطهر والله يعلم وانتم لا تعلمون ٢٣٢

وَإِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَبَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا تَعْضُلُوهُنَّ أَن يَنكِحْنَ أَزْوَٰجَهُنَّ إِذَا تَرَٰضَوْا۟ بَيْنَهُم بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ يُوعَظُ بِهِۦ مَن كَانَ مِنكُمْ يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ ۗ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَزْكَىٰ لَكُمْ وَأَطْهَرُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ٢٣٢

وَاِذَا

طَلَّقْتُمُ

النِّسَآءَ

فَبَلَغْنَ

اَجَلَهُنَّ

فَلَا

تَعْضُلُوْهُنَّ

اَنْ

یَّنْكِحْنَ

اَزْوَاجَهُنَّ

اِذَا

تَرَاضَوْا

بَیْنَهُمْ

بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ ؕ

ذٰلِكَ

یُوْعَظُ

بِهٖ

مَنْ

كَانَ

مِنْكُمْ

یُؤْمِنُ

بِاللّٰهِ

وَالْیَوْمِ

الْاٰخِرِ ؕ

ذٰلِكُمْ

اَزْكٰی

لَكُمْ

وَاَطْهَرُ ؕ

وَاللّٰهُ

یَعْلَمُ

وَاَنْتُمْ

لَا

تَعْلَمُوْنَ

۟

اور جب تم اپنی عورتوں کو طلاق دے دو پھر وہ اپنی عدت پوری کرلیں تو مت آڑے آؤ اس میں کہ وہ عورتیں پھر نکاح کرلیں اپنے سابق ازواج سے جبکہ وہ آپس میں رضامند ہوجائیں بھلے طریقے پر یہ وہ چیز ہے جس کی نصیحت کی جا رہی ہے تم میں سے اس کو جو واقعتا ایمان رکھتا ہو اللہ پر اور یوم آخرت پر یہی طریقہ تمہارے لیے زیادہ پاک اور زیادہ عمدہ ہے اور اللہ جانتا ہے تم نہیں جانتے

Sahih al-Bukhari 4529

Narrated Al-Hasan:

The sister of Ma'qal bin Yasar was divorced by her husband who left her till she had fulfilled her term of 'Iddat (i.e. the period which should elapse before she can Remarry) and then he wanted to remarry her but Maqal refused, so this Verse was revealed:-- "Do not prevent them from marrying their (former) husbands." (2.232)

Sahih al-Bukhari 5331

Narrated Al-Hasan:

The sister of Ma'qil bin Yasar was married to a man and then that man divorced her and remained away from her till her period of the 'Iddah expired. Then he demanded for her hand in marriage, but Ma'qil got angry out of pride and haughtiness and said, "He kept away from her when he could still retain her, and now he demands her hand again?" So Ma'qil disagreed to remarry her to him. Then Allah revealed: 'When you have divorced women and they have fulfilled the term of their prescribed period, do not prevent them from marrying their (former) husbands.' (2.232) So the Prophet (ﷺ) sent for Ma'qil and recited to him (Allah's order) and consequently Ma'qil gave up his pride and haughtiness and yielded to Allah's order.

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
