Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Raheem

Today, no lengthy verse…
Just two words:

كُن فَيَكُونُ

We hear and read these words so often, yet perhaps we do not always pause to reflect on their depth.

Kun — Be.
Fayakun — and it is.

These words remind us of Allah’s perfect power and absolute authority. When Allah wills something, He does not depend on our calculations, resources, or the apparent means around us.

Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) had only a staff in his hand, yet by Allah’s command, it became a great sign.
The sea stood before him with no visible path, yet Allah made a way through it.
Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was cast into the fire, yet Allah made it a place of safety for him.
And Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) was surrounded by layers of darkness, yet Allah brought him out through His mercy.

So, what is truly impossible for us?

Perhaps Kun Fayakun teaches us that what appears impossible from our limited perspective is merely a matter of Allah’s will.

And perhaps this belief in Allah’s power is not only meant for great trials; it can also become a source of strength in the weaknesses we often cannot put into words.

Sometimes a thought is perfectly clear in our hearts, yet expressing it to someone feels difficult.
Sometimes we know what we want to say, but the right words do not come.
Sometimes an emotion is so deep that we cannot convey it to others in the same way we experienced it within ourselves.

Sometimes, then, our difficulty is not only our circumstances; sometimes, being able to convey what is in our hearts to others is itself a test.

In such moments, the supplication of Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) offers such beautiful guidance:

رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي ۝ وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي ۝ وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي ۝ يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي

“My Lord, expand for me my chest, ease for me my task, and untie the knot from my tongue so that they may understand my speech.”
(Qur’an 20:25–28)

Perhaps this is the certainty we need to carry with us:

We are limited. Our strength is limited. Our words are limited—but our Lord is not.

And when He wills something—

Kun Fayakun.

Shafa Yahya wa iyyakum...dear....may Allah bless you...

*Boundaries in the Qur’an: Protecting Ourselves and Our Relationships*

We often struggle to set boundaries in our relationships because of cultural pressure, fear of losing someone, or fear of being misunderstood. Sometimes we feel guilty for saying no, asking for space, or telling someone when something is not okay for us.

But boundaries are not about pushing people away. They help protect our physical, emotional, and mental limits so that we can have healthier relationships and interactions.

The Qur’an gives us beautiful guidance around privacy, personal space, permission, and respecting the boundaries of others.

 *“O believers! Do not enter any house other than your own until you have asked for permission and greeted its occupants. This is best for you, so perhaps you will be mindful.”*  24:27

We also see this in another verse:

 *“O believers! Do not enter the homes of the Prophet without permission...”* 33:53

The verse also teaches us not to overstay or make someone uncomfortable simply because they are too shy to ask us to leave.

This is something we can reflect on psychologically. Sometimes people struggle to communicate their limits because they don't want to hurt someone else's feelings. They may remain silent even when they are uncomfortable.

The Qur'an reminds us that consideration goes both ways: *we should respect other people's boundaries, but we should also be aware of our own.*

Another beautiful example is:

*“O believers! Let those in your possession and those of you who are still under age ask for your permission at three times...”* 24:58

The verse establishes specific times of privacy within the home. Even within a family, there is a recognition that people need private space.

This makes me reflect on how important it is to create healthy boundaries with the people closest to us. Being family, being friends, or loving someone does not mean that we are entitled to unlimited access to their time, space, emotions, or personal life.

*When we struggle to communicate our boundaries.*

Sometimes we know that we need to say something, but fear stops us.

We may be afraid of being judged, rejected, misunderstood, or seen as rude.

This is where the dua of Musa AS can be a beautiful reminder:

*“My Lord! Uplift my heart for me, and make my task easy for me, and remove the impediment from my tongue so people may understand my speech.”* 20:25–28

We can make this dua when we know we need to have a difficult conversation, express a need, say no, or communicate something that is uncomfortable for us.

Setting a boundary does not have to come from anger. It can come from clarity, respect, and self-awareness.

And just as it is important to respect other people's boundaries, it is important to respect our own. Sometimes we keep giving, explaining, helping, and carrying things because we feel guilty about stepping back. But not every burden is ours to carry.

Setting boundaries is not about becoming distant or difficult. Perhaps it is about learning to live with wisdom — knowing when to speak, when to step back, when to say no, and when to give ourselves and others space.

Allah is **Al-Hakīm — The All-Wise**. His guidance teaches us that even in our closest relationships, there are limits, privacy, and responsibilities.

So when we struggle with boundaries, we can ask Allah to give us the wisdom.
**Ya Hakīm, teach me to know when to hold on, when to step back, and how to do both with wisdom.**

Mashallah beautifully elaborated - wisdom to step back, to say no 

I was recently making this Dua of Musa (a) before speaking to someone and paused for a bit to reflect on how I never need to worry like this when speaking to my Lord. When speaking to people, we have to be cautious and mindful of our words, carefully weighing how they will be perceived. I often find myself typing out a message, backspacing it and rewriting the whole thing. Or sending it and then deleting it out of a concern of being misunderstood, offensive, a nuisance, or just saying too much. Or I say something and then find myself filled with regret later. But there's this real comfort in speaking to Allah, knowing that He will never misunderstand me and never get tired of listening. Even if my words come out jumbled and messy, He will still understand what I meant by them, even better than I understand them myself. The one who is closer to me than my jugular vein is surely closer to me than my vocal chords. He understands my subconscious thoughts and the confused feelings of my heart better than I understand them myself. Alhamdullilah for a Lord and Cherisher who is always listening, always responsive, never gets tired, and always understands ❤️

I personally will add another verse in the do'a that is 20:25-29. The do'a is common to all of us in seeking 'ilmu from pre-school until now and ever. Insya-Allah. 

I was stunned to see how things worked out for me today. 
I am a college student and today was my lab external exam. In lab externals, we are given an experiment to execute. And at the end, a lecturer from some other college comes here for conducting viva voce. 
So before I was called for the viva, the dua of prophet Musa (A.S.) flashed my mind. 
Subhan Allah, as I recited it, I was less nervous of the questions. After I went there, everything went so smooth. I was asked questions which I already knew... Throughout the process, I was confident and grateful to Allah.

Before speaking to the hardest of people — Musa AS made this duʿā.

He was sent to confront Firʿawn — the most arrogant tyrant of his time.
A dangerous mission. A heavy responsibility.

He didn’t begin by asking for victory.
He asked for inner readiness first.

Ta-Ha (20:25-28)

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱشْرَحْ لِى صَدْرِى ٢٥

Moses prayed, “My Lord! Uplift my heart for me,

وَيَسِّرْ لِىٓ أَمْرِى ٢٦

and make my task easy,

وَٱحْلُلْ عُقْدَةًۭ مِّن لِّسَانِى ٢٧

and remove the impediment from my tongue

يَفْقَهُوا۟ قَوْلِى ٢٨

so people may understand my speech

Musa AS asked for:

• A steady heart
• Ease in the mission
• Clear speech
• Real understanding from people

You may know exactly what to say — yet struggle to say it right.
Like Musa AS, ask Allah to untie the knot — so your message is understood.

We often try to avoid confrontation — but sometimes truth needs to be spoken.
This is the duʿā to recite when something difficult must be said — so you can convey it with clarity and calm.

Just as Musa AS asked Allah for help before confronting the worst tyrant of his time — ask Allah for help when facing your enemies.
True strength comes from seeking Allah’s support.

'Imagine knowing exactly what you want to say, but the words come out slurred, soft, or rushed — as if your voice is betraying you. People ask you to repeat . Speaking becomes exhausting, a chore rather than a connection. Over time, you stop speaking up at all.'.

Slurred speech, or dysarthria, is a common and often distressing symptom in Parkinsonism,. The struggle with speech affects not only communication but also self-esteem, social interaction, and quality of life

Surah Taha is not just the story of a Prophet It’s a story of fear, courage, calling, and divine support — especially in the way Prophet Musa struggled with speech.
I love this Surah since some years and whenever I read it gives me a new message and the mysteries inside are unexplainable 
I was reading it in the Fajar time today and this beautiful Dua which I read it several times before, gave me a new hope Alhamdulillah.
I was bursts into tears. 

 This Dua wasn’t just about speaking clearly. It was about:

Opening the heart (courage, clarity, purpose)

Asking for ease (reducing anxiety, removing resistance)

Being understood (true connection, not just language)

Allah swt loves us so much and guiding us in different ways.
May Allah help us all and make us among those who love Quran 

O Allah, benefit me with what You have taught me, teach me what will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge.
Ameen.

One reflection that I've had is that in making a dua, the main goal of it is actually to strengthen our relationship with Allah in doing so, and the particular thing that we are asking for is secondary.


For indeed, if our relationship with Allah is good, then the ease, help, and the resources that we are asking for in order to handle our situation will automatically come to us through Allah's mercy and in the way that He wills.


It's the connection or the relationship between us and Allah that matters the most. And dua, at its core, I believe, is a relationship building act; it goes beyond just supplicating and getting what we want.


Maybe that is why, in all the duas of the Prophets (peace be upon them) that are mentioned in the Quran, we see how much respect, humility, and adab (manners) they show every time they communicate their needs and feelings to Allah SWT. Even when they are in difficulty, they don't complain to Allah, but rather they use gentle words and they start to glorify Allah even more.


Also, it's probably not a coincidence that there are at least 40 duas in the Quran that start with the name 'Rabb' ('Lord'). This word, if it is internalized properly, makes us realize what our relationship is with Allah: He is our Master, and we are His slaves. He is both extremely loving and caring and, at the same time, He has power and authority over all things.


It is not the word 'Rabb' itself that makes a difference, but it is truly knowing what it means and therefore making Allah SWT the greatest thing in our hearts, and then putting our full trust in Him. And all that, ultimately, creates a relationship between Him and us.


And then we turn to Him in a state of neediness and brokenness, but also with love and gratitude towards Him - because He is our Rabb.

What does it mean to truly trust Allah in the face of fear and adversity?

Pharaoh is introduced in the Quran as someone who elevated himself to absolute power, declaring, 'I am your lord, the most high' (79:24). He divided people with fear and dependency, tormenting their sense of self and community (28:4). Under such a system, survival meant submission, and over time, submission became a reflex. 

When fear becomes constant, it rewires the mind. Resistance no longer feels like an option; obedience feels like safety. This is how Pharaoh’s power penetrated deeper than laws—he ruled minds, shaping thoughts and silencing questions before they could surface.

For Musa (AS), standing before Pharaoh meant more than confronting a tyrant. It was a psychological battle—facing the person who had raised him, whose presence meant both fear and familiarity. Confronting Pharaoh meant letting go of the beliefs he learned while growing up in the palace, and realizing that he didn’t have to accept Pharaoh’s authority as absolute. Even Musa’s initial hesitation—my chest feels tight, and my tongue is not fluent (20:25-28)—reflects how deeply the pressure affected him. 

Pharaoh’s power relied on illusion—making others believe he was invincible. Musa (AS) had to stand in front of that illusion and say—you are not what you claim to be. Allah reminded him, 'Fear not, I am with you, hearing and seeing' (20:46), strengthing Musa’s heart beyond the visible power of the king to the invisible presence of Allah. 

On a personal level, this story teaches that fear is a part of the human experience. It shows us that courage isn’t about eliminating fear but learning to act through it. Pharaoh’s world was one where external power dictated reality, but Musa (AS) teaches us that freedom begins when we refuse to let fear define our choices. 

Each of us faces moments where fear, anxiety, or self-doubt feel overwhelming, paralyzing our ability to act. In all those moments, faith grounds us that we are not alone, even when everything external tells us otherwise. It’s a shift in perspective—from seeing power as something others hold over us to recognizing that strength comes from trusting Allah’s presence and plan.

That is where true freedom is found—when we rely not on what we see, but on the One who sees us.

The next time you recite Surah Al Taha in your Salah especially, or outside of it. Imagine yourself to be Musa ( Alayhi Assalaam) and replace your life story with his life story, 
Outside of Salah pretend to have that conversation and reflect and see how your Lord Has favored you and chosen you, and shaped you for who you are and then take on life with in mind.
I speak to myself with this reflection. May Allah Grant Wisdom to appreciate His favors upon us.

These verses embody for me a beautiful conversation between Allah (SwT) and Prophet Musa peace be upon him, whereas Allah asks Musa about his stick before asking him to throw it away. 

He (SwT) in His majesty, connected with Musa before giving him a command, asking him about his stick and why it matters to him. 

And prophet Musa responds as if he is speaking with a close friend (and to Allah belongs the utmost example of perfection). 

Once Allah asks Musa to throw this stick, Musa throws it instantly although it has several uses for him. He didn't question Allah, asking why Allah ? And Allah showed Him His signs and returned it to Him.

Sometimes we are led to 'drop' certain things in our lives or they are removed from our lives - whether they be people, places, opportunities, health, wealth, etc. And sometimes that removal is temporary so Allah can show us His signs and return them to us when are ready to hold them again, and sometimes they are replaced with that which is better, in His Infinite Wisdom. 

Musa's stick was a tool and Musa trusted Allah when he was asked to throw it because He had a strong relationship with Allah.  The tool is temporary but the bond of trust between Him and Allah is eternal.

And once again Musa embodies this trust when Allah asks him to go to the Pharoah. With such a great task ahead, Musa doesn't question Allah, or say to Allah I am not the right person for the job ! He first asks Allah to uplift his heart, make his task easy and remove the impediment from his speech - which are all his personal resources. Then he asks Allah for external help too - to send His brother with him so he can help him and so they can Glorify and thank Allah often.  The key here wasn't just accomplishing the mission of going to the Pharoah but of also remembering and glorifying Allah often.

We can learn from this that when we have a difficult task ahead of us we can also make the dua prophet Musa made asking Allah for internal help and also ask for the external help we need. 

If you find yourself with a difficult task ahead, trust Allah can provide the tools you need to achieve it with His will or make a way out for you.  Ask of Him what you need. 

He's always been and always will watch over us, like he did with Prophet Musa.
