Subhanallah… Allah (swt) is Al Hadi, He guides and Al Lateef, the subtle One. How beautiful is it that he guided Musa (as) to refuse those wet nurses just to be reunited with his mother again. And this is the promise of Allah (swt). He will never let you down and will always give you openings from where you would have never expected.

Prophet Musa's Life Design journey .. 

Episode 2: Change starts at home.

You may not hear this advice in the hustle culture productivity literature, that focuses on outwardly success and career aspirations.
But according to the Muslim paradigm, you cannot take shortcuts!
Prophet Musa had his family members by his side:
His mother,
His sister,
His brother,
Later on Assiya who adopted him ....

We need to stop looking at close family members as obstacles to our success, and search deeply, inside the box of our family (not only outside the box) for their support, their duas, and their help..
If you think this is impossible, maybe it's time to make dua to change their hearts and guide them towards changing their attitudes and behaviors.

Within these verses is a perfect depiction of Al-khabeer (The All Aware), a-Jabar (The Restorer), A-raqeeb (The Watchful), Al-wakeel (The Disposer of Affairs). Allah orchestrates these events and accounts for all things human nature that may have put Musa in harm, from his mother's fear to Firawn's hesitation. Note that she nurses him first, and later, it is his familiarity for his mother's breast that reunites them. 

'Do not fear or grieve' is a commonly referenced phrase in the Quran with slight variations. Fear is regarding future events while grief is regarding past events. In other parts of the quran, the absence of fear and grief describes an honor to those in paradise. It is said to be the most repeated reward of paradise mentioned in Quran! Whereas fear and grief is a defining characteristic of this dunya. They are matters of the heart and as such, can only be modified through Allah's intervention. This is mentioned in later verses about Allah 'reassuring' Musa's mother's heart. Musa's mother's inclination toward doubting her action just shows the nature of a mother whose rahma is so tied with her emotion. But Allah's mercy is not faulty like the mother's (whose acts of mercy may at times endanger or not be in the best interest of their child, ie a mother who fears losing a relationship with her son and thus doesn't correct him when he sins. Or in this case, Musa's mother's wanting to take back what she'd done despite it being exceedingly dangerous).

Verse 10 uses two different words for heart, 'fu'ad' and 'qalb'. Qalb is rooted in its nature to change and flip back and forth. Hence the duaa 'O' Turner of hearts, make my heart firm on Your Deen.' Fu'ad is the heart but in extreme emotion, coming from the word meaning burning/kindling.

Musa's sister plays a unique role in his story yet we never hear about her unless it is in this context. A lesson that Allah sends people into our lives with specific purposes. She was a protector before Musa (AS) could even know who she was (as an infant). It reminds me of the words 'every person who enters your life is either a blessing or a lesson.'
