فَلَا رَفَثَ وَلَا فُسُوقَ وَلَا جِدَالَ
fa-lā rafatha wa-lā fusūqa wa-lā jidāla fī a l-ḥajji
فَلَا رَفَثٌ وَلَا فُسُوقٌ وَلَا جِدَالٌ
fa-lā rafathun wa-lā fusūqun wa-lā jidālun fī l-ḥajji
“There shall be no intimacy, no sinfulness, and no dispute during the pilgrimage”
In these two readings, the three things are being forbidden in the same way.
فَلَا رَفَثٌ وَلَا فُسُوقٌ وَلَا جِدَالَ
fa-lā rafathun wa-lā fusūqun wa-lā jidāla fī l-ḥajji
“There shall be no intimacy and no sinfulness, and there is no dispute concerning the pilgrimage”
With the last term jidāl separated grammatically, this denotes that the obligation, times and places of Hajj have been established definitively.

Maelezo

The first two readings represent two linguistic options to negate categorically, with the intent to forbid those acts; the first (rafatha, etc.) may be seen as more emphatic in this purpose. The third reading entails a separate meaning for the third word, so it negates dispute concerning the Hajj, not during it [al-Mahdawi, al-Alusi].

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
