The purity of the inner self depends on how much you remember, desire, and think about the Hereafter. Allah says:

"Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah often." (33:21)

A few days ago, while I was having my meal during break time at work, there were three other co-workers on the same table who had already finished eating (because they started before me) and they were engaged in a casual conversation, and I was pretty much not saying anything at all and just listening to them. The discussion at one point centered around nostalgic feelings about their old experiences in their homeland, old memories, and the shared feelings that they had for their Bangladeshi cultural roots and how it's becoming harder to maintain that. They were speaking in my native language, but again, for some reason I wasn't able to situate myself into that discussion nor find it that interesting.

Later on, I started thinking that, even though such conversations are sometimes a good thing and it's a good way to spend time and socialize with others, it suggests that many of the things that people value so much and feel nostalgic for are kind of a possible sign of being heedless about the Hereafter. The culture, the memories, the "good old days," and even our relational ties will be completely forgotten on the Day of Resurrection, because those things won't matter anymore; then we will truly realize what has more value and importance in Allah's sight compared to the more worldly issues that people talk about.

In Surah Saad, verse 46, Allah tells us that Ibrahim, Isaac, and Yaqub (peace be upon them) were all chosen by Allah because of an exclusive and special quality - the remembrance of the Home (the Hereafter). Therefore, if this quality can be cultivated within ourselves, too, insha'Allah, then we will be more purified and our hearts will not get diverted by the noise and distractions around us.

وَٱذْكُرْ عِبَـٰدَنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ أُو۟لِى ٱلْأَيْدِى وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرِ ٭ إِنَّآ أَخْلَصْنَـٰهُم بِخَالِصَةٍ ذِكْرَى ٱلدَّارِ

"And remember Our servants - Ibrahim, Isaac, and Yaqub  - men of strength and insight. We truly chose them for the exclusive quality: the remembrance of the Home (the Hereafter)." (38:45-46)

Alhamdulillah. Jazak Allahu khayran. I am too struck by the fact that Allah(SWT) praises the quality of the remembrance of the hereafter.

Sometimes the simplest Sunnah brings a kind of peace that truly surprises you.

Someone gifted me a miswak, and I kept it safe like a little treasure. One day I thought, “Let me just try it once.” But the very first time I used it, I found myself thinking, SubhanAllah, why didn’t I try this earlier? My teeth felt visibly cleaner - the kind of clean even expensive toothpastes don’t always give.

And then I remembered the hadith where the Prophet (pbuh) said: “The siwak cleanses the mouth and pleases the Lord.” (Musnad Ahmad 7)

Honestly, reviving these small Sunnahs reminds me that there is a special kind of barakah in the Sunnah - a blessing that nothing else can replace.

And the best part is that I’m pleasing my Lord while my teeth feel cleaner than ever.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

The life of Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ was a mirror of the Prophets before him.
It was as if their paths, their trials, their victories and griefs —
were gathered into his single journey.
For he is Khatam an-Nabiyyīn — the Seal of Prophets.

Mūsā عليه السلام once stood trapped — the sea before him, an army behind.
His people cried: 'We are overtaken for sure!' (26:61)
But he said with unshakable yaqīn:
'Absolutely not! My Lord is certainly with me — He will guide me.' (26:62)

And so did Muḥammad ﷺ,
as arrows rained like a storm,
as his companions scattered in fear.
He pressed forward, never retreating, never yielding —
for his Lord was with him.

Ya‘qūb عليه السلام lost two sons,
his eyes whitened from grief,
yet his patience shone like a lantern in the dark.

And Muḥammad ﷺ —
he buried six of his children with his own hands,
yet his heart remained steadfast,
always holding good thoughts of Allah.

‘Īsā عليه السلام never knew the warmth of a father’s embrace.
And so too, Muḥammad ﷺ was born an orphan,
never once cradled by his father’s arms.

Nūḥ عليه السلام preached for 950 years,
yet watched the waves swallow his son,
realizing that guidance is only in Allah’s Hand.

And so too, Muḥammad ﷺ
watched his beloved uncle — his guardian —
die upon disbelief,
pressured by the chiefs of Quraysh.

Then Allah revealed:
'Indeed, you do not guide whom you love, but Allah guides whom He wills.' (28:56)

Ibrāhīm عليه السلام was rejected by his father,
cast into fire,
and exiled from his people.

And Muḥammad ﷺ was mocked by his tribe,
stoned in Ṭāʾif until his sandals filled with blood,
and finally left Makkah for Madīnah.

He was one man — yet a reflection of all Prophets.
A seal of greatness,
a vessel of every trial,
a guide for every generation.

So many tests,
so many wounds,
so many nights of grief.
Yet never once did he act from anger or despair.

He was a teacher of patience,
a mentor of hope,
a messenger showing us how to be human again.

'Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example, for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day,  and remembers Allah often.' (33:21)

May Allah grant our Prophet ﷺ al-Wasīlah and al-Faḍīlah,
raise him to the highest station on the Day of Judgement,
and reward him beyond measure.

May Allah make us true followers of his Sunnah,
fill our hearts with love and longing for him,
and unite his Ummah under the banner of truth.

Following the Prophet’s Example 

A student once asked his teacher: 'Tell us of something about Jannah, which will make us yearn for it'. The teacher replied succinctly:  'Muhammad (peace be upon him) will be there'. 

We all long to succeed in the ultimate test of life. We all desire Jannah. We all hope to receive our record in our right hand. We all yearn for our Creator to welcome us with His mercy and grace. We all yearn to meet our Beloved Prophet (peace be upon him). Imagine sitting with him, looking at his noble face, listening to his comforting voice - the voice of revelation. Can you sense just being in his company? The one who was sent as a Mercy to Mankind?

That hope weighs heavily on the heart of every believer. And the Qur’an directs us to the most certain path to that success:
'Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for whoever hopes in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah often.' (Surah al-Ahzab 33:21)
The most secure way to attain Allah’s pleasure is to model ourselves after the Prophet (peace be upon him), to reflect his character, embody his manners, and fill our lives with the remembrance of Allah. This is the best investment we can make today, whose returns will be seen on the Day of Judgment.

Yearning for Allah’s pleasure and longing to see our Creator and His Most Beloved, must be to be rooted in an active engagement and practice of his sunnah. 

Ask yourself:


How well do I truly know the way of our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him)?
Where am I falling short in following his example?
What steps can I take to learn more about his life and put it into practice? 
Hope cannot stand alone. It must be built on action, by actively aligning our lives with the guidance and example of the best of creation (peace be upon him). We pray Allah guides us to follow in his example, and that Allah grants his intercession and companionship in Jannah. Amen

This reservation by the critics neglects the fact that he ﷺ was sent as a role model. His ﷺ life is a reassurance for the grieving hearts. If he had all those luxuries of a king, how would many of us deprived of  worldly riches would have taken inspiration from himﷺ, only thinking that he didn't experience the path.

His ﷺ life was filled with pain and struggles,  he ﷺ was an orphan, lost his mother, no siblings and lost six out of his ﷺ seven children in his life time.
He suffered hunger and poverty,
Threat and danger in Makkah,
Retaliation in Medina,
Yet he ﷺ was a kind man, comforting even a kid who lost his bird. A man of values and integrity even with his ﷺ opponents.

He ﷺ embodied what he ﷺ preached.
Comfort for the grieving heart even today, truly mercy for the worlds. For his blessed life tells us that the riches of this world are not a goal , The goal is Akirah.

He didn't asked to be worshipped, but  lived a life of servitude.

Why would a person writing to influence would live in extreme hardship even when he was conquering and got superiority in Makkah afterwards?

His ﷺ mission was higher than these worldly gains. His lifestyle reflects the teachings taught to his followers. 

Through my own experience , his ﷺ life story comforts the hearts struggling. It teaches us  that life of this world is temporary and fleeting and true success is in securing the hereafter. 


At first glance, this ayah might only seem like an indication to follow the Messenger of Allah (sws) and to take him as an example. However, if we dig deeper and explore the several facets of such a statement the phrase 'In the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example' becomes a garden where each corner showcases a different cluster of plants and flowers. On the one hand, the Prophet (sws) is an example of life and a guide through its complexity. Through emulating him (sws) we embrace the knowledge of Allah himself, of our dependence on Him, and we are granted insights into the divine wisdoms behind the turning of the wheels of life. In the life of Rasulullah (sws) we are shown Tawakkul, patience, the working of the divine decree and many other eternal truths. If we look at this from another angle, the example of the Prophet (sws) becomes the perfect manifestation of true submission to the Creator—of the one who treads the illuminated path of the Shari'ah; whose acts of worship have reached the highest degrees of excellence. When Allah says in the Quran:


'Surely We created man in the best mould 

then We reverted him to the lowest of the low,

except those who have faith and do righteous deeds. Theirs is a never ending reward.' [95:4-6]


It is an indication of man's potential, and that such potential can only be reached through faith and good deeds motivated by the belief in Allah. Connecting it to the verse in surah al-Ahzab, we have been given the Perfect man to emulate—the Messenger of God (sws). If we let our emulation of him (sws) remain one-dimensional then we are not fully taking advantage of this mercy from Allah. Moreover, the Messenger of Allah (sws) was also described as the 'walking Qur'an'. This should be an indication of the symbiotic relationship between the book of Allah and His messenger (sws). The two complete each other, as the Quran comes with guidance and light, the Messenger (sws) embodies that guidance and light and provides the believers with a tangible framework to live and breathe the Quran—to truly taste revelation.

In his Kitab al-Mawaqif Amir Abdul Qadir said about this verse: 'For the disciple—indeed, for the gnostic himself—this verse should be the cardinal point of his orientation (qiblatahu) in every place, the object of his contemplation at every instant.'

Muslims as an Ummah or a community or a society, we are in a state of dis-array because we fail to emulate the prophet's way of life. Quran 33:21 Allah is guiding us in that Direction.

What do we gain as a society by following the prophet's footsteps ?

Let's Reflect on Quran 48:29, we shall become like the community Prophet raised. What were they before Islam? If we go back to history, you will know what they used to be !.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said 'None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind.'

By studying Seerah, we are not bringing value to the life of Prophet Muhammadﷺ, rather, By studying Seerah we are bringing value to our own lives.

In the Name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Kind,

We have been told that we will be subject to trials and tribulations through different ways. 
Whilst, we do not have a choice with many of the trials that we are or will be subject to, we do have a choice on how we will face a trial.

Many rocks will crack under pressure. Yet a few rocks that will be immersed under extreme  heat and pressure will show resilience during the catastrophic climate with their shape intact.  Yet, these rocks do change, they become diamonds.

What if we trust Allah during our trials? What if we increase in seeking forgiveness during our trials? What if come to increase our love for Allah during our trials and have deeper conviction that His reward and Justice will be great? 

May we become diamonds under what is pressurising us - Allahumma ameen.
