What is the thing that keeps you away from Allah's friendship? 

Surat No 62 : سورة الجمعة - Ayat No 7 

وَ لَا یَتَمَنَّوۡنَہٗۤ  اَبَدًۢا  بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ اَیۡدِیۡہِمۡ ؕ وَ اللّٰہُ  عَلِیۡمٌۢ   بِالظّٰلِمِیۡنَ ﴿۷﴾ 

'But they will not wish for it(death), ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers.' 

Because of What their hands put forward they'll not wish for death. 

Why this Happens??? 

There are some things that are found in all human beings that are:
Anger, jealousy, comparison, worthlessness, loneliness, greed, lust, heedlessness ( I don't fear or i dont worry about anything, I don't care) hedonism ( my main objective is to keep myself happy), materialism ( for some people it's money, for some it's car, for some it's brands) 
Now Quran controls all of them to go to the extreme level...because these things are part of life and we have to control them and for that Allah gave us Quran.
And when our hand prioritise some of these things then the Deen of Allah becomes secondary. Means I'll only practice deen when my priorities are not being distributed. Sometimes people's opinions on you becomes priority over what Allah said. 

At that point we have to judge ourselves that what is that thing, what is that priority, that is keeping me away from Allah? 

And these are the kind of people who never wish for death because they prioritise something else over what Allah said. And such people when they know what they are prioritising and they know its wrong then Quran said they talk more about Allah's mercy. 
And actually they don't wanna explain themselves at the day of judgement because they know what they are doing. 

And in the end of Ayet Allah said he knows who the wrongdoers are. He knows what we do and he identifies the wrongdoers.
