ولقد اتينا داوود وسليمان علما وقالا الحمد لله الذي فضلنا على كثير من عباده المومنين ١٥
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا دَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَـٰنَ عِلْمًۭا ۖ وَقَالَا ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى فَضَّلَنَا عَلَىٰ كَثِيرٍۢ مِّنْ عِبَادِهِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ١٥
وَلَقَدۡ
ءَاتَيۡنَا
دَاوُۥدَ
وَسُلَيۡمَٰنَ
عِلۡمٗاۖ
وَقَالَا
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ
لِلَّهِ
ٱلَّذِي
فَضَّلَنَا
عَلَىٰ
كَثِيرٖ
مِّنۡ
عِبَادِهِ
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
١٥
Indeed, We granted knowledge to David and Solomon. And they said ˹in acknowledgment˺, “All praise is for Allah Who has privileged us over many of His faithful servants.”

The Knowledge to Be Grateful
In this verse Allah says that He granted Dawud and Sulaiman (peace be upon them) knowledge, for the verse to then quote their gratitude towards Allah(SWT).
Perhaps this quote is showcasing their knowledge, their knowledge to be grateful to Allah. Because to be grateful, and knowing Who to be grateful to, is a knowledge.

As I start reading Quran after Ramadan and I focussed on word Al Hamd where we are praising Allah and acknowledging Allah’s favors . I particularly shared Surah An Naml Ayah 15 where Allah is saying that He bestowed ilm / knowledge to Dawood (as) and Sulayman (as) and in return they both praised Allah and they both humbled themselves because of this ilm.
