Yesterday I had to drive for about an hour. 3izza , besides glory ,also refers to ability to overwhelm. hence satan swearing by Allahs 3izza to mislead mankind by overwhelming them with his influence. Perfect attribute to use in that oath as it pertains to the subject matter, as is the case with all oaths in the Quran.
Satan asked Allah for delaying his death till the Qiyamah. Satan too will die like us, he will not be saved. He’s just trying to mislead all of us through his whispers so we enter Jahannam naudhubillah, so we remain away from Allah till our appointed death, and the biggest regret approaches our conscience.

Don't take every desire you have so personally!
In the Yusuf Ali translation, this ayah is translated as, 'Satan makes them promises, and creates in them false desires; but satan's promises are nothing but deception' (4:120).
Some desires are fueled by satan. If we can recognize that, it may make it easier to deny satan's influence, rather than feeling that we are denying a genuine personal desire.
