قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ٨٢

Yesterday I had to drive for about an hour. Some of this driving was in my neighborhood, some on a main road, some on the highway where there was a lot of construction, some on the highway where there was no construction and zero traffic, some on the road where there was a lot of traffic, into a neighborhood and onto the driveway that was attached to my destination.

3izza , besides glory ,also refers to ability to overwhelm. hence satan swearing by Allahs 3izza to mislead mankind by overwhelming them with his influence. Perfect attribute to use in that oath as it pertains to the subject matter, as is the case with all oaths in the Quran.

Satan asked Allah for delaying his death till the Qiyamah. Satan too will die like us, he will not be saved. Don't take every desire you have so personally!

In the Yusuf Ali translation, this ayah is translated as, 'Satan makes them promises, and creates in them false desires; but satan's promises are nothing but deception' (4:120).

Some desires are fueled by satan. If we can recognize that, it may make it easier to deny satan's influence, rather than feeling that we are denying a genuine personal desire.
