In surah al-Ahqaf [46], Allah informs the Prophet of a group of Jinn who overheard him reciting the Qur'an and then went back to their people, saying:

[قَالُوا يَا قَوْمَنَا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا كِتَابًا أُنزِلَ مِن بَعْدِ مُوسَىٰ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْحَقِّ وَإِلَىٰ طَرِيقٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ]

They said, "O people, we have heard a scripture which was sent down after Moosaa confirming what was before it, guiding to the truth and to a straight path." [30]

In his tafsir of this ayah, al-haafidh ibn Kathir wrote:

[( قالوا يا قومنا إنا سمعنا كتابا أنزل من بعد موسى) ، ولم يذكروا عيسى ; لأن عيسى ، عليه السلام ، أنزل عليه الإنجيل فيه مواعظ وترقيقات وقليل من التحليل والتحريم ، وهو في الحقيقة كالمتمم لشريعة التوراة ، فالعمدة هو التوراة ; فلهذا قالوا : أنزل من بعد موسى . وهكذا قال ورقة بن نوفل ، حين أخبره النبي [ ص: 303 ] - صلى الله عليه وسلم - بقصة نزول جبريل [ عليه السلام ] عليه أول مرة ، فقال : بخ بخ ، هذا الناموس الذي كان يأتي موسى ، يا ليتني أكون فيها جذعا . ]

"They said, 'O people, we have heard a scripture which was sent down after Moosaa'" and He did not mention 'Eesaa. That is because 'Eesaa was given the Injeel which contained exhortations and heart-softeners and only a small amount of details on what was permissible and what was prohibited.

In truth the Injeel was like a complement to the sharee'ah of the Tawrah while the Tawrah was the primary text. That is why they said, "... sent down after Moosaa ...".

And that is also what Waraqah ibn Nawfal said when the Prophet told him about Jibril visiting him for the first time. He said, "Incredible! That was al-Namoos who came to Moosaa! O, if only I were a young man ...".

The Holy Quran is Allah's guidance to the world, but it will not be revealed to every individual nor will a copy fly to every person, and if it did not everyone will just pick it up and start reading it on their own (language, level, etc.). There is a key component to delivering this critical message; it's You.

You are connected to others and can relate to them, you have the opportunity, or rather the duty, to deliver the message.

But how can you deliver the message without being inspired by it, and communicate it in words, and a lens, that resonates with you and would resonate with people around you.

You are a messenger; through your connections and reflections, you are the conduit.
