في قلوبهم مرض فزادهم الله مرضا ولهم عذاب اليم بما كانوا يكذبون ١٠
فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌۭ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَرَضًۭا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ ١٠

مَّرَضٞ
فَزَادَهُمُ
ٱللَّهُ
مَرَضٗاۖ
وَلَهُمۡ
عَذَابٌ
أَلِيمُۢ
بِمَا
كَانُواْ
يَكۡذِبُونَ
١٠
Em seus corações há morbidez, e Deus os aumentou em morbidez, e sofrerão um castigo doloroso por suas mentiras.

i.e. when they were alive, the hypocrites would falsely claim to be believers (2:8).

kānū yukadhdhibūna
“because they used to deny”
i.e. they disbelieved in Allah and the Last Day.
