يوسف ايها الصديق افتنا في سبع بقرات سمان ياكلهن سبع عجاف وسبع سنبلات خضر واخر يابسات لعلي ارجع الى الناس لعلهم يعلمون

يُوسُفُ أَيُّهَا ٱلصِّدِّيقُ أَفْتِنَا فِى سَبْعِ بَقَرَٰتٍ سِمَانٍ يَأْكُلُهُنَّ سَبْعٌ عِجَافٌ وَسَبْعِ سُنۢبُلَـٰتٍ خُضْرٍ وَأُخَرَ يَابِسَـٰتٍ لَّعَلِّىٓ أَرْجِعُ إِلَى ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

Have you ever gotten a call or text from someone out of nowhere after a long absence? Perhaps you had been waiting around for this person for a while. And when they finally get in touch, you realize it's because they need something from you. 

Resist the temptation to get bitter or resentful. Resist the temptation to say, 'This person only contacted me because they need something from me'. Take a moment to pause and reflect on the fact that you have been blessed with something that is useful for others.  And if you're able to provide the person with what they are asking for, provide it for the sake of Allah, without bitterness and resentment. Because if you're doing something for the sake of Allah, what place does bitterness and resentment have in the equation?

Also, know that sometimes people truly do forget. We are humans after all. Perhaps something good triggered their memory and they felt comfortable to come back to you despite the long absence. Alhamdullilah, Allah blessed you with an approachable personality.

In these ayahs, we read about a noble Prophet being forgotten for many years. Reflect upon his reaction when he is finally remembered.

#Yusuftaughtme that it's not about how perfect others behavior towards me is, it's about how I can serve my Master through my reaction to them.

SubhanALLAAH. We studied these ayats yesterday in class! JazakAllahu khayr for this new perspective of looking at these ayats. Yes. It has happened a few times to me. To be forgotten till needed and to be left out. Alhamdulillahi alaa kulli haal. Theres always a lesson to be learned when this happens.

Look at the honor old Yousef! he didnt use his knowledge as a bargaining tool and explained the dream, and offered a solution, without asking for anything in return. the only time he made the request for a fair hearing was when the king asked for him to be released , and as a condition for his release, but not a condition for teaching them the interpretation of the dream.

Wow! That's amazing. He asked for fair hearing in return as a condition to be released! That's deep! and not as a condition to share valuable knowledge. Subhan Allah. May Allah swt grant us true sincerity.

Though Prophets have the most Tawakul (reliance) in Allah, they are also amongst the most proactive. Yousef suggested storing most of the harvest from the good years for the bad years to come and this doesn't indicate a lack of Tawakul at all. In fact,  it points to true Tawakul that is accompanied with proper planning and execution to the best of ones abilities. The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) would wear armor to battle, hire guides in his journeys, and plan his expeditions and journeys thoroughly but none of this contradicts true reliance in Allah (SWT) as long as ones hopes and expectations are placed in Allah (SWT) alone and not the means which you took to achieve your goal.

An amazing similarity. In the story of Adam, after asking the angels to name the things that he taught Adam, they admitting to not knowing. So upon Adam proving his superiority in knowledge, Allah asked the angels to prostrate to him. Also in the story of Yousef, after the king asked the interpreters to explain his dream, they were unable to do so, so once Yousef was able to do so after their inability, it resulted in his elevation in status as it did with Adam.
It seems that sometimes that sometimes Allah, if he wants someone to shine and to elevate their status, He will first show the futility of others before putting the spotlight on that individual so his talents are more appreciated and his status is raised even more. We see a similar case when Omars companions blamed him for bringing Ibn Abbas as a child to their meetings which discussed matters related to the Ummah. To prove his worth he asked them their understanding of Surah al Nasr. After giving their interpretations, which were all correct, he asked ibn Abbas for his and his proved to be the most insightful and this was a cause of his elevation in their eyes.

Mashallah those are such insightful observations.
