ارسله معنا غدا يرتع ويلعب وانا له لحافظون

أَرْسِلْهُ مَعَنَا غَدًا يَرْتَعْ وَيَلْعَبْ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ

I was recently reflecting on Yusuf (a)'s outing with his brothers. As a child, I wonder if he must have been excited to go out for a day of fun and play with his brothers. It made me reflect on how the deception of his brothers is similar to the deception of this dunya in a way.  'This worldly life is no more than play and amusement.'[47:36] It lures us in with its false promises, but if we remain steadfast like Yusuf (a), even when getting caught in its trap, we can be victorious in the end insha'Allah. We can never let our situation or circumstances change our commitment to Allah (SWT), even if we are deceived and disappointed by the dunya and find ourselves in the worst of situations. May Allah keep us steadfast and fully committed to Him until the very end of our journey through this dunya.
