يا بني ادم قد انزلنا عليكم لباسا يواري سواتكم وريشا ولباس التقوى ذالك خير ذالك من ايات الله لعلهم يذكرون ٢٦
يَـٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ قَدْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًۭا يُوَٰرِى سَوْءَٰتِكُمْ وَرِيشًۭا ۖ وَلِبَاسُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌۭ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ ٢٦
يَٰبَنِيٓ
ءَادَمَ
قَدۡ
أَنزَلۡنَا
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
لِبَاسٗا
يُوَٰرِي
سَوۡءَٰتِكُمۡ
وَرِيشٗاۖ
وَلِبَاسُ
ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ
ذَٰلِكَ
خَيۡرٞۚ
ذَٰلِكَ
مِنۡ
ءَايَٰتِ
ٱللَّهِ
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
يَذَّكَّرُونَ
٢٦
O Kinderen van Adam, voorzeker, Wij hebben voor jullie kleding neergezonden om jullie schaamte te bedekken en versierselen. En het kleed van het vrezen (van Allah), dat is het beste. Dat zijn een aantal van Allah's Tekenen. Hopelijk laten zij zich vermanen.

وَلِبَاسُ التَّقْوَى
wa-libāsu t-taqwā
“But the garment of piety, that is better”
This is effectively a new sentence after the description of what God has provided.
وَلِبَاسَ التَّقْوَى
wa-libāsa t-taqwā
“...and the garment of piety: that is better”
Here, the phrase is conjoined to the things God has ‘sent down’, and then this latter item is described as being superior.

Uitleg

These readings convey the same meaning, though the second has the added aspect of piety being a provision from God [Makki].
