افامنتم ان يخسف بكم جانب البر او يرسل عليكم حاصبا ثم لا تجدوا لكم وكيلا ٦٨

أَفَأَمِنتُمْ أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمْ جَانِبَ ٱلْبَرِّ أَوْ يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًۭا ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُوا۟ لَكُمْ وَكِيلًا ٦٨

أَفَأَمِنتُمۡ

أَن

يَخۡسِفَ

بِكُمۡ

جَانِبَ

ٱلۡبَرِّ

أَوۡ

يُرۡسِلَ

عَلَيۡكُمۡ

حَاصِبٗا

ثُمَّ

لَا

تَجِدُواْ

لَكُمۡ

وَكِيلًا

٦٨

Voelen jullie je er veilig voor, dat Hij jullie niet in de aarde weg doet zinken wanneer jullie op het land zijn, of stenen over jullie zendt? Vervolgens vinden jullie geen beschermer voor jullie.

yakhsifa...yursila...yuʿīdakum...fa-yursila

"that He would cause...send...return...and send"

In this reading, the four verbs are conjugated in the third person, for God.

نَخْسِفَ - نُرْسِلَ - نُعِيْدَكُمْ - فَنُرْسِلَ

nakhsifa...nursila...nuʿīdakum...fa-nursila

"that We would cause...send...return...and send"

In this reading, God speaks of Himself with the first-person majestic plural.
