Tazkirul Quran Tafseer: Al-Baqarah Ayah 255

2:255

الله لا الاه الا هو الحي القيوم لا تاخذه سنة ولا نوم له ما في السماوات وما في الارض من ذا الذي يشفع عنده الا باذنه يعلم ما بين ايديهم وما خلفهم ولا يحيطون بشيء من علمه الا بما شاء وسع كرسيه السماوات والارض ولا ييوده حفظهما وهو العلي العظيم ٢٥٥

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌۭ وَلَا نَوْمٌۭ ۚ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىْءٍۢ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ٢٥٥

إِلَٰهَﲕ

إِلَّاﲖ

هُوَﲗ

ٱلۡحَيُّﲘ

ٱلۡقَيُّومُۚﲙﲚ

لَاﲛ

تَأۡخُذُهُۥﲜ

سِنَةٞﲝ

وَلَاﲞ

نَوۡمٞۚﲟﲠ

لَّهُۥﲡ

مَاﲢ

فِيﲣ

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِﲤ

وَمَاﲥ

فِيﲦ

ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗﲧﲨ

مَنﲩ

ذَاﲪ

ٱلَّذِيﲫ

يَشۡفَعُﲬ

عِندَهُۥٓﲭ

إِلَّاﲮ

بِإِذۡنِهِۦۚﲯﲰ

يَعۡلَمُﲱ

مَاﲲ

بَيۡنَﲳ

أَيۡدِيهِمۡﲴ

وَمَاﲵ

خَلۡفَهُمۡۖﲶﲷ

وَلَاﲸ

يُحِيطُونَﲹ

بِشَيۡءٖﲺ

مِّنۡﲻ

عِلۡمِهِۦٓﲼ

إِلَّاﲽ

بِمَاﲾ

شَآءَۚﲿﳀ

وَسِعَﳁ

كُرۡسِيُّهُﳂ

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِﳃ

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَۖﳄﳅ

وَلَاﳆ

يَـُٔودُهُۥﳇ

حِفۡظُهُمَاۚﳈﳉ

وَهُوَﳊ

ٱلۡعَلِيُّﳋ

ٱلۡعَظِيمُﳌ

٢٥٥ﳍ

Allah, er is geen god dan Hij, de Levende, de Zelfstandige, sluimer noch slaap kan Hem treffen, aan Hem behoort toe wat er in de hemelen en wat er op de aarde is. Wie is degene die van voorspraak is bij Hem zonder Zijn verlof? Hij kent wat er voor hen is en wat er achter hen is. En zij kunnen niets van Zijn Kennis omvatten, behalve wat Hij wil. En Zijn Zetel strekt zich uit over de Hemelen en de Aarde en het waken over beide vermoeit Hem niet. En Hij is de Verhevene, de Almachtige.

Unlike sincere devotees, there are some who never accept religion at the cost of the surrender of their being. They are never serious in matters of religion, and as a result believe that intercession by certain religious seers or the performance of certain rituals, or the observance of certain forms is enough to earn salvation in the Hereafter. Due to their insincerity about the Hereafter, they fail to understand that Doomsday is the Day of the manifestation of God’s power and majesty. Hoping that the performance of certain superficial rituals might earn them God Almighty’s pleasure is indeed an underestimation of God’s divinity. This only increases their sinfulness in the eyes of God. The truth comes to one in the form of arguments, and one who is not sincere summarily rejects them. This is one of Satan’s temptations. Guidance comes only to those who scrupulously resist Satan’s temptations and, recognizing the divine arguments, wholeheartedly concur in them.
