ولقد همت به وهم بها لولا ان راى برهان ربه كذالك لنصرف عنه السوء والفحشاء انه من عبادنا المخلصين ٢٤

وَلَقَدْ هَمَّتْ بِهِۦ ۖ وَهَمَّ بِهَا لَوْلَآ أَن رَّءَا بُرْهَـٰنَ رَبِّهِۦ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ لِنَصْرِفَ عَنْهُ ٱلسُّوٓءَ وَٱلْفَحْشَآءَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ٢٤

وَلَقَدۡ

هَمَّتۡ

بِهِۦۖ

وَهَمَّ

بِهَا

لَوۡلَآ

أَن

رَّءَا

بُرۡهَٰنَ

رَبِّهِۦۚ

كَذَٰلِكَ

لِنَصۡرِفَ

عَنۡهُ

ٱلسُّوٓءَ

وَٱلۡفَحۡشَآءَۚ

إِنَّهُۥ

مِنۡ

عِبَادِنَا

ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

٢٤

En voorzeker, zij begeerde hem. Als hij geen Teken van zijn Heer had gezien. zou hij haar hebben begeerd. Zo was het, opdat Wij het kwaad en de zedeloosheid zouden afwenden. En voorwaar, hij is één van Onze oprechte dienaren.

This is a passive participle from verb akhlaṣa, meaning that God purified them and chose them.

المُخْلِصِينَ

al-mukhliṣīna

This is the active participle, meaning they purified their worship and intentions, hence they were sincere in faith.
