Hoe oordelen jullie?

يَهِدِّي
lā yahiddī*
“who cannot go the right way unless led”
*Shuʿbah from ʿĀṣim actually has yihiddī, included here for simplification.
يَهَدِّي
lā yahaddī*
“who cannot go the right way unless led”
NB: Some pronounced this with an overshort vowel, closer to the third reading.
يَهْدِّي
lā yahddī
“who cannot go the right way unless led”
The above readings are various ways to realise form VIII from the same root, originally yahtadī.
يَهْدِي
lā yahdī
"who cannot guide, but must be led"
This reading is based on form I of the root h-d-y.

Uitleg

These readings provide complementary meanings. It also possible that the last reading is another shortened form of yahtadī, hence the readings all mean the same [al-Mahdawi].

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
