وانك لا تظما فيها ولا تضحى

وَأَنَّكَ لَا تَظْمَؤُا۟ فِيهَا وَلَا تَضْحَىٰ

The four necessities of life are: shelter, clothes, food and drink. Looking around the world these are the most things people are deprived from due to war, poverty etc.. 

In this Ayah, Allah Almighty specified these needs in Jannah for Adam because it is sufficient for life though the Jannah  is full of other blessings .

-Allah Almighty combined 'hunger' and 'clothes 'in first Ayah because hunger is inner emptiness and nakedness is outer appearance 

( 118 )   Indeed, it is [promised] for you not to be hungry therein or be unclothed.

- The second Ayah, it combined 'thirst' and 'heat of sun' because thirst is inner heat and sun is outer heat 

( 119 )   And indeed, you will not be thirsty therein or be hot from the sun.'

If we are blessed with these necessities we should be grateful to Allah for them 


The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: 'The one among you who wakes up secure in his property, healthy in his body and has his food for the day, it is as if the whole world were brought to him.'

Narrated by al-Bukhaari in al-Adab al-Mufrad (no. 300) and by al-Tirmidhi in al-Sunan (2346).
