Why doesn’t Allah show Himself directly? Why doesn’t He appear in front of everyone and say, “Here I am, your Lord—look at Me”?

In truth, Allah shows Himself through His creation. One of His Names is Az-Zahir, which means The Manifest (The One who is evident). Another Name is Al-Batin, which means The Hidden. He is both Manifest and Hidden at the same time. We cannot see Him in His true form, but we can see clear signs of His existence everywhere in the world around us. In the Qur’an, He reminds us of these signs again and again:

“He is the One who sends down rain from the sky, and with it He brings the dead earth back to life. Surely in this are signs for people who think.” — Surah An-Nahl (16:65)

Amazing things are happening in front of us all the time. But we are so used to them that we no longer feel surprised. We do not stop to think deeply about them.

Think about a small seed. It lies quietly under the soil. After some time, it breaks through the ground, grows bigger, spreads green leaves, forms branches, and finally produces fruit. From simple soil—sometimes even dirty soil—comes sweet and beautiful fruit. From the same soil and the same water, different fruits grow with different tastes. Is that really something small? Is that not a kind of miracle?

But because we have seen this since childhood, we think it is normal.

Now imagine something different. You plant a seed, and a tree made of gold grows from it. The trunk, the leaves, even the fruit are made of gold. You would be shocked. You would think it is a miracle, because you have never seen such a thing before.

Now imagine the opposite. Imagine that since birth, you had only seen golden trees. Everything around you was gold. You had never seen green plants, sweet fruits, or colorful flowers. Then one day, a seed grows into a green tree. After some days, it gives a bright red fruit. You taste it, and it is sweet and delicious.

Wouldn’t you be amazed?

Wouldn’t you ask: Who put this sweetness in the fruit? How did life, color, and taste come from lifeless soil?

These are the signs of Allah. He shows His power, wisdom, and beauty through His creation. We may not see Him directly, but we clearly see His work.

So maybe the real question is not, “Why doesn’t Allah show Himself?”

Maybe the real question is, “Are we looking carefully enough to see His signs?”

Personally, I love when Allah mentions how rain gives life to a dead land, right after mentioning that the Quran is a mercy for the believers. I've always felt so comforted by heavy rain, it's like a reminder to slow down and take it easy. Don't stress about things too much, Allah's got you. 
This is a reminder to not neglect the Quran, it gives us life and without it, we have no direction and no reminder of where we're going. We cannot live without water, but if we are ever in a situation where we don't have access to water, we then realise how much of a huge blessing it is. I've noticed with myself that it's the same with the Quran, if I don't nurture my relationship with the Quran, my heart feels like a fish without water. Everything in my life feels confusing and blurred. I feel this emptiness that cannot be explained. It is then when I realise the blessing of having a daily routine that includes the Quran.

Read My Reflection for the Same Ayah

I went to my mothers grave and for the last two weeks I noticed that there was a lot of grass and flowers natural growing on top of the grave, I looked around and I noticed that the graves next to them didn’t have as much but they surely had some grass and flowers as well. 

Maybe it’s because I’m looking at my mothers grave I notice more flowers or maybe it’s a blessing from Allah. But it did look beautiful. A bunch of yellow flowers growing right on top of where her blessed head was placed الله يرحمها 

As I noticed , this verse came to my lips 

How Allah Subhanu wa taala could extract life from a place inhabited by the dead 


Then how can we say Allah can not bring our dead hearts to life ?

I wanted to write this down where I can look back to it in the future 

اللهم اجعل قبرها روضة من الرياض الجنة

Allah keeps telling us that He sent down rain to give life to that which is dead. 
Our Lord wouldn't mention something again and again if it wasn't important. 

الحمد لله على نعمة المطر 

A believer looks at rain with positivity, as a chance to make Dua, a chance to experience Mercy. 
A chance to connect to his Lord and bring life to his heart. 
A chance to stay indoors and ponder over His creation or a chance to walk out and experience it. 
The water will evaporate , but the water that is used for plants will cause it to grow and attain it's nutrients. 
The rain will go away , but the time we spent making dua will remain and it will revitalize our hearts. 
يا مقلب القلوب ثبت قلبي على دينك

We recite many verses where Allah talks about the rain bringing life to a dead land, and in other places we see how the Quran revives the dead hearts.  and this is something we observe sometimes, when we feel down the Quran helps us, or sometimes catches us offguard and a verse will click with us. or how a single verse could break down The prophet May peace be upon him or the companions. 

but what I think about is, we want immediate results. we want to recite Quran and be fully cured instantly, yet when we plant seeds we know for a  fact that it will take time for the seed to grow into a tree. 
Why are we so impatient when we want to heal our hearts, which are far more complex and delicate than any tree. 
Everytime it rains or snows we make tons of dua for healing and recovery or whatever you want, just give it time. no doubt He has heard you and perhaps your seed will sprout at any moment. 

	Al-Baghawi mentions how this practice of burying one’s infant daughter took place in his Tafseer (2/619): 
	When an Arab man would have a daughter, and he wanted to let her live, he would dress her in a robe made of wool or hair and would leave her in the desert for the camels and sheep to graze. If he wanted to kill her, he would wait until she was six years old and then say to her mother: 'Dress her up so that I can take her to marry her off.' He would dig a ditch for her in the desert, and when he reached the ditch with her, he would say: 'Go look into that well,' and then push her from behind into the well. He would then pour the dirt onto her head until the well was filled all the way up to the ground. That is what Allah alludes to when He says: 'Should he keep it in humiliation or bury it in the ground?' [16:59]
