وانكم لتمرون عليهم مصبحين

وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ

In Tafsir al-Tahrir wa'l-Tanwir Ibn Ashur says:
وكانَ أهْلُ مَكَّةَ إذا سافَرُوا في تِجارَتِهِمْ إلى الشّامِ يَمُرُّونَ بِبِلادِ فِلَسْطِينَ فَيَمُرُّونَ بِأرْضِ لُوطٍ عَلى شاطِئِ البَحْرِ المَيِّتِ المُسَمّى بُحَيْرَةَ لُوطٍ

This ayah/verse (sign) is a call to the people of Mecca (and anyone that follows) to take heed and be conscious of the signs that are, literally, on the side of the road.  What about those of us who have access to expedient travel options? We can jet past mountains, valleys, and rivers so quickly and often that we've even developed the term: 'fly-over states'. 

What signs has Allah ﷻ‎ put in our path that we aren't heedful of?

This particular sign Allah ﷻ‎ points out has been present for millennia (since the time of Abraham) and is still there for all of us to experience and to be reminded through.  We often perceive the world around us in a state of constant (oftentimes rapid) change and this gives us the impression that we should be in constant motion to prepare for what is coming next - the 'next big thing'. Rather, Allah ﷻ‎ calls on us to reflect on what is right in front of us and what He ﷻ‎ has left intentionally, for millennia, for that sole purpose.

What signs has Allah ﷻ‎ left in our path that we haven't been heedful of?

May Allah ﷻ‎ guide us to what He ﷻ‎ is pleased with and help us to reflect on His ﷻ‎ signs as we move towards Him ﷻ‎.
