In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

The stories of nations before serve as a guide, the stories of steadfastness serve as a guide and example, the stories of the prophets peace be upon them all are mentioned for us to contemplate and take lesson from. There is always something that our lives will relate to with the Qur’an, it does not matter whoever you are. There is a story for each and all. 

Allah’s Blessed Book is a comfort but it is  the truth, because it is the truth this is why we find comfort. And it is from none other than the Creator the King of Kings.

So let us take this ayah as hope for the ummah that is suffering, cornered from all sides including by some of their own. Yet, Allah’s help is above all of the nations and everything in this world. The greatest armies are powerless in front of the help of Allah. 

So, those of us who feel and cry at injustice take comfort in the words of Allah SWT and hold onto them ever so tightly and have full conviction upon them. It is what will get us through each and every ordeal.

Wa iyyak Shaykh. May Allah bless all of you here and your families for both worlds Ameen ya rabb.

A GLOBAL MEETING OF THE UMMAH

SubhanALLAH! 

These verses resonate with the horrifying events in Gaza right now.
Muslims leaders need to read and understand the calling of this Surah.
Muslim leaders need to implement the calling of these verses.

Hajj season is more than just a season of worship. It represents a global meeting of Muslims.  Our leaders should take this divinely-crafted opportunity to meet, plan and strategise. To be in a pure state; to be in The Haram; in blessed days. No better time and place to conceive a blueprint for the safety and security of the Ummah.

May Allah save protect our brothers around the world especially in Gaza and Biladi Ash Sham 
May Allah inspire our leaders to purify themselves and to excell in their duty to the Ummah

These verses describe justice- a theme that was alluded to in earlier verses, again, with the permission to resist after being wronged. I.e. permission to seek one's justice.

Again, we see reemerging themes as Allah redescribes the reward of the believers and specifically the reward of the migrants. You may remember earlier verses describing the permission to resist the oppression for those who were forced out of their homes. In verse 58, Allah foreshadows what their destiny may be but reminds them that either way, that struggle will not be in vain (whether a muhajir dies in battle or naturally).

These verses push back against of pacifist/turn the other cheek approach to Islam. The context of the permission to fight may be in reference to a group of believers unable to migrate to Medina due to disbelievers forbidding them. But imagine it in the greater context of historical uprisings for justice such as those seen in the case of the Prophet (SAW)'s son-in-law and grandchildren and even today in present day apartheid. The regard for rights is so high in Islam and the Hijra was not a 'turn the other cheek' moment but rather, wait for God's final verdict.
Omar (RA) during his rule had visited Palestine and was invited to pray salah inside of a church. He refused, not out of a fear of haram/halal, but for fear that if he prayed there, Muslims after him would destroy the church and build a mosque in its stead. #SuratAlHaj
