وقاتلوهم حتى لا تكون فتنة ويكون الدين كله لله فان انتهوا فان الله بما يعملون بصير ٣٩

وَقَـٰتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّىٰ لَا تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌۭ وَيَكُونَ ٱلدِّينُ كُلُّهُۥ لِلَّهِ ۚ فَإِنِ ٱنتَهَوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌۭ ٣٩

وَقَٰتِلُوهُمۡ

حَتَّىٰ

لَا

تَكُونَ

فِتۡنَةٞ

وَيَكُونَ

ٱلدِّينُ

كُلُّهُۥ

لِلَّهِۚ

فَإِنِ

ٱنتَهَوۡاْ

فَإِنَّ

ٱللَّهَ

بِمَا

يَعۡمَلُونَ

بَصِيرٞ

٣٩

Et combattez-les jusqu’à ce qu’il ne subsiste plus d’association, et que la religion soit entièrement à Allah. Puis, s’ils cessent (ils seront pardonnés car) Allah observe bien ce qu’ils œuvrent.

yaʿmalūna

“God sees what they do”

This reading refers to those who repent from unbelief, implying that God will reward them.

تَعْمَلُوْنَ

taʿmalūna

“God sees what you (pl.) do”

This reading addresses the Believers who fought to defeat unbelief, promising God will reward their achievement.
