wa-ttabaʿt'hum dhurriyyatuhum - dhurriyyatahum
وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ - ذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ
wattabaʿt'hum dhurriyyatuhum - dhurriyyātihim
وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّاتُهُمْ - ذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ
wattabaʿt'hum dhurriyyātuhum - dhurriyyātihim
“Those who believed, and whose offspring who followed them in faith: We unite their offspring with them”
In these readings, the first occurrence of the word is the subject of 'followed'. The readings use the singular (dhurriyyah) and the plural (dhurriyyāt) with the same meaning.
وَأَتْبَعْنَاهُمْ ذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ - ذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ
wa-atbaʿnāhum dhurriyyātihim - dhurriyyātihim
“Those who believed, and whose offspring We made to follow them in faith: We unite their offspring with them”
In this reading, both occurrences (plural) are the object of a verb. Allah describes His guidance using the first-person majestic plural.

Explication

These readings amount to the same meaning [al-Mahdawi].

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
