72:9
وانا كنا نقعد منها مقاعد للسمع فمن يستمع الان يجد له شهابا رصدا ٩
وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَـٰعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ ۖ فَمَن يَسْتَمِعِ ٱلْـَٔانَ يَجِدْ لَهُۥ شِهَابًۭا رَّصَدًۭا ٩
وَأَنَّا
كُنَّا
نَقۡعُدُ
مِنۡهَا
مَقَٰعِدَ
لِلسَّمۡعِۖ
فَمَن
يَسۡتَمِعِ
ٱلۡأٓنَ
يَجِدۡ
لَهُۥ
شِهَابٗا
رَّصَدٗا
٩
Nous y prenions place pour écouter. Mais quiconque prête l’oreille maintenant, trouve contre lui un bolide aux aguets.

Explication

In this surah, thirteen ayahs begin either with a conjunction and anna (as in the first reading here), or with inna (emphatic particle) to create a new sentence. There are various explanations for anna which may be more appropriate to specific junctures [Makki].

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
