ولا تومنوا الا لمن تبع دينكم قل ان الهدى هدى الله ان يوتى احد مثل ما اوتيتم او يحاجوكم عند ربكم قل ان الفضل بيد الله يوتيه من يشاء والله واسع عليم ٧٣
وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْهُدَىٰ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰٓ أَحَدٌۭ مِّثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَآجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌۭ ٧٣

يُحَآجُّوكُمۡ
عِندَ
رَبِّكُمۡۗ
قُلۡ
إِنَّ
ٱلۡفَضۡلَ
بِيَدِ
ٱللَّهِ
يُؤۡتِيهِ
مَن
يَشَآءُۗ
وَٱللَّهُ
وَٰسِعٌ
عَلِيمٞ
٧٣
[Les gens du Livre disent à leur coreligionnaires] : "Et ne croyez que ceux qui suivent votre religion..." Dis : "La vraie direction est la direction d’Allah" - [et ils disent encore: Vous ne devez ni approuver ni reconnaître] que quelqu’un d’autre que vous puisse recevoir comme ce que vous avez reçu de sorte qu’ils (les musulmans) ne puissent argumenter contre vous auprès de votre Seigneur. Dis[-leur] : En vérité la grâce est en la main d’Allah. Il la donne à qui Il veut. La grâce d’Allah est immense et Il est Omniscient. 1

أَنْ يُؤْتَى
an yuʾtā
“...(do not believe) that anyone will be given similar to what you have received”
This is interpreted as an appositive for the earlier instruction of Jewish leaders to their followers: "lā tuʾminū, etc."
أَأَنْ يُؤْتَى
a-an yuʾtā
“Would anyone will be given similar to what you have received?”
The hamzah is interrogative as a rhetorical denial.

Explication

These two readings amount to the same meaning, here understood as the objection of Madinan Jews to the Prophet (ﷺ) receiving revelation [Makki]. The translations will differ if this portion of the verse is understood as a continuation of what the Prophet (ﷺ) was instructed to tell them, i.e. “The true guidance is God’s guidance…”

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
