How many court cases have we seen where multiple people commit a crime together, but when they are caught, they testify against one another in order to get a lighter sentence for themselves. I'm sure this comes as a  big shock to those who are being testified against.

It's human nature to feel safer when we are part of a group. But let's be careful anytime a sin feels like less of a personal responsibility because it is being done together with others. Whether that feeling of 'my friends have my back' is expressed verbally or assumed, it will be of no use to us on the Day of Judgement. 

We will stand all alone and will be 100% responsible for our own actions. The people who made us feel comfortable and secure with the sin will not only be of no help, but will be eager to testify against us in an effort to save themselves. 

Let's take some time to reflect upon these ayat and think about sins we are comfortable with because they are being done in a group, or by many others around us.
