In this beautiful phrase “ذُرِّيَّةًۢ بَعْضُهَا مِنۢ بَعْضٍۢ”, Allah highlights that they were “offspring, one from another.”

Subhan Allah! Beyond the physical connection, there is a deeper link: similarity in their mission, sincerity, character, and unwavering obedience to Allah.

Even though they lived centuries apart, they were aligned in purpose and attitude. This itself is a powerful reminder that truth does not change with time, and that we too are meant to embody these same qualities, regardless of the era we live in.

It is also a subtle indication that the Qur’an is not limited to a specific time or people. Its guidance flows across generations, just like this blessed lineage.

And when we reflect further, Prophet Adam AS is the father of mankind, and Prophet Nuh AS is often referred to as the second father of humanity. In a way, we all trace back to them. So being “chosen” is not something distant or abstract! It is tied to how closely we align ourselves with their path, their sincerity, and their obedience.

This realization naturally sparks a deeper curiosity:
- What exactly were their qualities?
- How did they act in moments of ease and hardship?
- What made their sincerity so pure?

The Qur’an invites us to explore, reflect, and imitate, not just admire.

Just to add, it feels like up to ayah 32 serves as a conclusion to everything discussed so far, and from ayah 33 onwards, a new introduction and invitation begins. SubhanAllah! Let’s be prepared.

Keep our hearts awake and our eyes open.
Allow us to recognize the wisdom in the lives of those You chose.
Help us to internalize their qualities, to live with sincerity and purpose, and to follow their path to the best of our ability.
And in our own ways, make us among those You choose and love.
