فلما احسوا باسنا اذا هم منها يركضون ١٢
فَلَمَّآ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأْسَنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ ١٢

When the wrongdoers sensed ˹the arrival of˺ Our torment, they started to run away from their cities.

This verse invokes a sense of fear and awe of Allah's might and power for me. Allowing the disbeliever to run, even momentarily, creating the illusion of escape, is a form of psychological torture. To say nothing of the terror they'll know when they realize they are yet to experience Hellfire.

أود أن أشارك معكم فكرة كنت أتأملها منذ فترة.
كان يلفت انتباهي كثيرًا وصف سيدنا إبراهيم عليه السلام بأنه «أمة». وكان فهمي لهذا الوصف محدودًا، حتى انتبهت إلى معنى مهم في قصته.
إن سيدنا إبراهيم عليه السلام واجه أباه – الذي قيل إنه عمه – وقومه وحده، وواجه النمرود وحده أيضًا، إن لم أكن مخطئًا. لقد واجههم وحده، ولم يكن معه إلا ربُّه.
