Allah mentions in these three verses about three of His amazing creations — the stars, the sky, and the mountains. Allah uses these examples to illustrate the horror of the Day of Judgment, as a reminder to those with hardened hearts who feel strong and invincible. Let’s take a closer look at why Allah chose these three things.

1. Stars
The stars, subhanAllah, are objects that are so far from us, thousands of light years away. Who has ever reached them? No one! They are unreachable, no one has ever gotten to them. But those distant stars in the sky, when the Day of Judgment comes, they will perish and vanish. Allah is reminding us — don’t think that just because something is far away, it is safe. No matter how far, when Allah wills it, it will be destroyed. No matter how untouchable we think something is, when the Day of Judgment comes, everything will be destroyed. We cannot think we can escape the power of Allah.

2. The Sky
Then Allah mentions the sky. The sky, with its immense height, is strong and without pillars, and it has never fallen throughout human history. We build tall buildings, but they have limits, they collapse eventually. But the sky? We have never heard of it falling. It is an incredible creation of Allah. Yet, what does Allah say? When the time comes, the sky will be split apart. No matter how high you are, no matter how secure you think you are in a place that seems unreachable, when the Day of Judgment comes — nothing is safe. Even the majestic sky will split apart.

3. The Mountains
Finally, Allah mentions the mountains. Mountains are among the strongest, most solid things on this earth. They withstand any natural disaster — tsunamis, earthquakes — yet they remain unmoved. If you think of strength on this earth, mountains are the strongest. But Allah says, even these mountains will crumble into dust and scatter like ashes on the Day of Judgment. Not just a simple collapse — they will disintegrate completely, becoming dust flying through the air. If even the mighty mountains will crumble, then what about humans?

What Does This Mean for Us?
Today, many people think they are strong, think they have power that will never fade. There are countries that call themselves the 'world police,' believing they can do whatever they want — attack here, bomb there — as if nothing can defeat them. As if they are untouchable. But they forget. Allah shows us three incredible creations — the stars, the sky, and the mountains — all of them will be destroyed on the Day of Judgment. So, who are we to think we are safe?

Today, people dream of moving to Mars, doing research so that humans can live there. They think that if Earth is destroyed, they can just escape to another planet. But will they be safe? They will not be safe. No one is safe from the power of Allah. This world is temporary. We cannot escape the Day of Judgment, no matter where we go.

So, what is our choice? Do not think we are safe, do not think we are strong. Instead, submit to Allah, remember the Day of Judgment that is surely coming, and realize how insignificant we are. Everything that exists — far, high, strong — will all be destroyed when Allah's command comes. Wallahu a'lam.
