This ayah reminds me of an irresponsible, neglectful homeowner.
Imagine a homeowner who has a part of his ceiling fall down. This would indicate something serious that he should look into asap, before the problem gets worse. But out of his neglect and denial, he says, 'It's just a little drywall and paint, no big deal.'
I imagine the people referred to in this ayah having a similar attitude - it's no big deal, don't worry about it, it'll fix ...

When the skies bring down rain, he does not think who has sent it?
When the day turns into night and the night turns into day, he does not think Who is it that causes this?
When he eats, he does not ponder how his sustenance and food has come onto his plate?
When his wife gives birth he does not thin...
