فإن في ذلك فوائد كثيرة؛ منها: أن طلب العافية مطلوب كل وقت، فإذا كانوا هم المبتدئين في ذلك كان أولى لإجابتهم، ومنها: أن في ذلك إجمامًا لقواكم، واستعدادًا منكم لقتالهم في وقت آخر إن احتيج لذلك، ومنها: أنكم إذا اصطلحتم وأَمِنَ بعضُكم بعضًا، وتمكن كلٌ من معرفة ما عليه الآخر؛ فإن الإسلام يعلو ولا يُعلى عليه، فكل من له عقل وبصيرة إذا كان معه إنصاف فلا بد أن يؤثره على غيره من الأديان. السعدي:325.

When I read this verse, I must remember that if the enemy is inclined towards peace, I must make peace with them. Allah knows best our real intention and what is in our hearts. There are times in life where letting go is a hard thing to do. It's hard to forgive and forget. Even when people decided to stop arguing, we are still inclining towards provoking to prove our point. The one phrase I used to say whenever my friends and I were having a 'conversation' was 'Ok, you win' to stop prolonging the fight or unnecessary argument. But, by looking back at how I responded in such situations, somehow, unconsciously provoked the other party. The worst is they started to have ill feeling afterwards. Even when our views differ, I should've understood that we are born different. There are many things to be considered and factored in whenever I encounter such 'debate'. Most of the times, it's better to be the water instead of fire so you feel calm and act rationally. Be it towards fellow Muslims or Non-Muslims. I believe we are the ambassador of our religion. We must practice al-Quran so people will have a good impression of Islam. May Allah grant us Sabr and Ilham to become the best servant of His.

The ceasefire in Gaza comes as a relief, Alhamdulillah. Undoubtedly, there are many levels of uncertainty as to what the future will hold. The full 20-point plan and the upcoming phases of the ceasefire are somewhat nebulous; however, our trust remains not in people, politics, or peace treaties. Our hope and trust are in Allah, for He, through His will and might, uses any one of His creation to enact His plans, not theirs, however, whenever, and through whomsoever He wills.


These verses tell us that where peace is a possibility, then we should make peace, not by putting our faith in the signatures of world leaders or the pledges made at any summits, but by putting our faith in Allah. He is All-Hearing and All-Knowing: All-Hearing of the whispers of those who try to dent this process or have other nefarious motives to deceive the believers, and All-Knowing of those who are not truly committed to peace. In verse 64, Allah says, 'And should they seek to deceive you, then Allah is sufficient for you. He is the One Who has supported you with His help and with the believers.'

Our hopes and trust are in Allah,  the One who grants and takes, the One whose timing is perfect, and the One who oversees the full affairs of His servants.

May Allah grant everlasting peace to our brothers and sisters in Palestine and beyond. May He accept their sacrifice and resilience, which has opened the eyes, minds, and hearts of millions of people across the globe. We pray that Allah, ‘Azza wa Jall, helps our brothers and sisters heal and rebuild a Free Palestine. Ameen.
