ولمن صبر وغفر ان ذلك لمن عزم الامور

وَلَمَن صَبَرَ وَغَفَرَ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ

Bismillah 

Forgiving ourselves and forgiving others , if and when we can, frees us of a heavy burden.
Keeping on to a grudge will only in the end, I found - hurt us! 

May Allah SWT make us strong for every situation and grant ease to forgive , in time if not straight away.

Patience, forgiveness and acceptance are NOT only among the hardest virtues to achieve, but even to realize it truly means to be patience (الصبر), to forgive (المغفرة) and to accept (الرضا). This is why Allah made them amongst the best of deeds that the strong willed and the righteous are guided to do. Patience is the one that came to mind today. A dear brother started a great project for the sake of Allah and needed (and still need) help along his quest. He sought the support from friends (me being one of them). I tried to help, but truth be told, life and distractions made me come short compared to what I initially imagined I would do. Today, he sent a signal of giving up on me. It made me think of how I can help more, but it also reminded me that we have to be patient with each other. Once you get a rider on your journey, hold on to him, and use the kindest of patience, because these journey mates will not turn you down. When you think that you've waited enough, remember how long prophet Nouh (peace be upon him) had waited. Sobhana Allah, never give up on  people! The moment you give up on someone, you give up on yourself. Patience is mending the fences when you think that they can't be mended!

This is a great reminder...

The story of Yunus pbuh also resonates here, because he wasn't patient and gave up on his dawah mandate to his people, he was punished by being swallowed by a whale and descending into darkness.

And ˹remember˺ when the Man of the Whale stormed off ˹from his city˺ in a rage, thinking We would not restrain him. Then in the ˹veils of˺ darkness he cried out, 'There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except You. Glory be to You! I have certainly done wrong.' (87) 21-The Prophets

As believers who try to connect with the Quran we have to project such stories on ourselves, are we not mandated to spread good? how can we be impatient in this journey with our own people who carry the same burden?
