إشارة لأن يستمر النصر لهذا الدين، ويزداد عند حصول التسبيح بحمد الله واستغفاره من رسوله؛ فإن هذا من الشكر، والله تعالى يقول: ﴿لَئِن شَكَرۡتُمۡ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمۡ﴾ [إبراهيم: 7]. وقد وجد ذلك في زمن الخلفاء الراشدين، وبعدهم في هذه الأمة؛ لم يزل نصر الله مستمرًا حتى وصل الإسلام إلى ما لم يصل إليه دين من الأديان، ودخل فيه ما لم يدخل في غيره، حتى حدث من الأمة من مخالفة أمر الله ما حدث، فابتلاهم الله بتفرق الكلمة، وتشتت الأمر، فحصل ما حصل. السعدي: 936.
السؤال: بيّن أهمية التسبيح والتحميد والاستغفار في نصرة الأمة والدين.

الأمور الفاضلة تختم بالاستغفار؛ كالصلاة والحج وغير ذلك، فأَمرُ الله لرسوله بالحمد والاستغفار في هذه الحال إشارة إلى أن أجله قد انتهى، فليستعد ويتهيأ للقاء ربه، ويختم عمره بأفضل ما يجده -صلوات الله وسلامه عليه-. السعدي: 936.

The mission was coming to an end. Makkah had been conquered, Islam was spreading, and people were entering the faith in multitudes. Then came the revelation of Surah An-Nasr—the last completed surah—not as a call to rejoice in victory, but as a command to turn to Allah in humility.

'Then glorify the praises of your Lord and seek His forgiveness. Indeed, He is ever Accepting of Repentance.' (110:3)

The Prophet ﷺ understood the weight of these words. From that moment, he frequently recited:

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi, astaghfirullaha wa atubu ilayh.
(Glory be to Allah and with His praise, I seek Allah’s forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance.)

It is profound. At the peak of success, the Prophet ﷺ was being reminded that all greatness belongs to Allah, and that every moment—even the moments of victory—should lead back to Him.

Allah, in His infinite mercy, is التَّوَّاب (At-Tawwāb), the Ever-Returning, the One who constantly accepts repentance. 

This name of Allah highlights His readiness to forgive and His endless capacity to receive the repentance of His servants. No matter how many times a person stumbles, Allah is always ready to accept their return, as long as it is sincere. 

Ramadan is a gift, a season of renewal. A time when the heart is softened, when the distractions of the world loosen their grip. If there is ever a time to rebuild our connection with dhikr, it is now. The Prophet ﷺ, in his final days, increased in remembrance—should we not, in these blessed days, do the same?

Dhikr is not just a practice; it is a lifeline. It is light in moments of darkness, ease in moments of hardship, clarity in moments of confusion. It was the command in the last completed revelation—perhaps because, in the end, everything fades, except the remembrance of Allah.

True victory is not in conquest, nor in status, nor in worldly success.
The real triumph is in returning to Him. And in His name At-Tawwāb, we are reminded that no matter how far we wander, Allah’s mercy is always there, waiting for us to return, to seek His forgiveness, and to find our way back to Him.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

Ramadan a metaphor of life:

We are drawing to the end of Ramadan,
will be inevitably sooner or later one day come to the end of our lives. 

Just as the Ramadan is very short,
Life too is  very  short.
Just as Ramadan is an opportunity, thus so is life. 

At the end of the Messenger peace be upon him’s life Allah SWT encouraged His beautiful prophet to remember Him and seek His forgiveness. Since the prophet pbuh is the example for us to follow, then we must always be seeking Allah’s forgiveness. The ability to ask for Allah’s forgiveness is a huge mercy. Allah wishes to forgive us! Will we not then ask sincerely for Him to forgive us? We who have so many sins, yet sins that are incomparable to His Mercy. 

Al-Zubayr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, 'Whoever would love to be pleased with his record, let him increase seeking forgiveness on it.'

So let us work on our records and wipe away the sins with good deeds and continuously seeking His forgiveness leaving Ramadan, but Ramadan serving a reminder that life too is short. I hope just as Eid is a celebration at the end, the Paradise is a reward for everyone one of us - Allahumma Ameen.

When, we look at the world around us today we naturally become saddened at the state of the world's affairs.

The last complete chapter of the Qur'an Surah An Nasr, is a delight yet emotional to read and reminding us that victory in this world is always for true Muslims despite their smallness in number. Victory happens after much hardship.

Reading the seerah of the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him and re-reading it, reflecting upon his life, his purpose and his legacy helps us to remember our purpose. This last ayah is poignant in understanding how Allah commanded His beloved messenger to lead the last days of his life - in tasbeeh, in His remembrance, in salah and in Istaghfar. We need to be living life following his Qur'an and the sunnah. We need to be living life between both worshipping Allaah, mentioning His praises and seeking forgiveness despite whatever is around us. We do not know when our exit is to be. We know that the Prophet peace and blessings fulfilled Allah's mission to restore Tawheed, the Kabah in the hands of the Muslims and to spread Islam. 

That was his mission, but are we fulfilling our mission to follow the Messenger of Allah as best as we can? 

May we do so, even if we are burdened with sins, for our Lord is At Tawwab ready to forgive.

The Prophet Pbuh was told to glorify Allah in the beginning of his Journey when he had no followers.
And The Prophet is told  the same thing at the end. Even after he sees people accepting in multitudes. In Addition he is told to seek forgiveness, for the task was mighty, and part of doing a good deed is seeking forgiveness at the end.

Hello, I’m a young Muslim girl and is very curious about Islam. I have a question. In Surah an nasr, why do we finish each verse with ‘s’ instead of ‘see’ as it shows a Kusara sign?

While the world celebrates victory with music, alcohol, and actions that displease Allah SWT. Islam teaches us a different way.

Surah An-Nasr teaches me that true victory is not celebrated with noise, pride, or outward display. When Allah’s help arrives, I should praise Him, and seek His forgiveness. Every day, we experience small victories like praying on time, overcoming a sin or following a sunnah. Each of these is a gift from Allah SWT and an opportunity to remember Him.

Prophet ﷺ  used to frequently recite: 
سُبْحَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَبِحَمْدِكَ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي
(I testify the Uniqueness of our Lord, and all the praises are for Him: "O Allah, forgive me!") (Sahih bukhari 4967)

In last week's session of Quran Weekly Dose, a new sister shared her journey to faith.
Stories of reverts have always fascinated me. At the same time I feel deeply uneasy whenever I hear a revert story.

What inspires someone to leave  their comfort zone for something that is alien to them?
Would I do the same, given the same circumstances?
Then I go to the core of this nagging fear; Am I being replaced?  
Is Allah SWT changing the 'face' of the Ummah to those who will sacrifice and strive harder than me?
I have heard of Muslim families losing their Islam within a generation or two; it IS a worrying trend.

Maybe the answerI need is in His Blessed Book.
We are encouraged to glorify Allah SWT and seek His forgiveness when we see many embracing this religion.
Only Allah SWT moves and inspires hearts to His religion; Glory is to Him SWT
Just as additions to the Ummah do not increase Allah's SWT Glory, our disobedience and apathy do not decrease His Glory, either.

However, I WILL be called into account for the legacy I leave behind. Just like the in the example of Ya'kub AS and his sons; the next generation has to be empowered.  To be equipped with knowledge and the spiritual strength and stamina to carry this torch. 

There is work to be done.

May Allah SWT forgive us for  all our shortcomings
May Allah SWT enable us to leave a strong legacy 
May Allah SWT preserve our children and the future generation in this blessed faith
Aamiin.

Sometimes when I read this surah, I imagine standing in a large masjid. 

The doors open and people of all backgrounds enter in droves.

People who were once hurting, broken, lost, confused, and on the verge of defeat, leaving the world behind and entering the masjid with tranquility, having found a connection with Allah after years of searching for peace. 

We line up in rows, pray together and praise Allah for His guidance and blessings.

Then we repent for our shortcomings, and sit in peace, knowing that He is oft-forgiving.

What can we do to make this vision a reality? 

May Allah give us the ability to bring the hearts back to Him. Ameen.

How amazing it is that in this moment of glory and triumph in the seerah, after more than 20 years of striving, when finally the time and circumstance was right for the great Victory of Allah, predetermined, measured, proportioned: there is no relish the moment or 'enjoy, you earned it!'

Instead, the heart must turn back to Allah in many-layered praise and repentance.  

How many people were lost along the way: Khadijah, the Prophet (s) children, Hamza, Sad ibn Muath, Musab, Zaid ibn Haritha, Jafar ibn Abi Talib; the dawah and Muslim community went through 20 years of hardship: stages of secrecy and persecution and ridicule; smear campaigns; personal attacks; Hijrah; many battles and military campaigns, political maneouvering, sleepless nights, secret missions, famine, fear, illness, loss of limb, loss of wealth, loss of beloveds, betrayal, division, hypocrisy, hearts in the throat and doubting of Allah ... and finally now the Victory and Help of Allah has arrived and the message is spreading exponentially...

Now here is your rest, and here is your celebration: turn to Allah, glorify His praises and seek His forgiveness. Recognize the powerlessness of the human being in the face of the perfect Victory of Allah, humble the self even more in the time of strength and triumph.
