And only believe those who follow your religion.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Surely, ˹the only˺ true guidance is Allah’s guidance.” ˹They also said,˺ “Do not believe that someone will receive ˹revealed˺ knowledge similar to yours or argue against you before your Lord.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Indeed, all bounty is in the Hands of Allah—He grants it to whoever He wills. And Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing.”

Readings
أَنْ يُؤْتَى
an yuʾtā
“...(do not believe) that anyone will be given similar to what you have received”
This is interpreted as an appositive for the earlier instruction of Jewish leaders to their followers: "lā tuʾminū, etc."
أَأَنْ يُؤْتَى
a-an yuʾtā
“Would anyone will be given similar to what you have received?”
The hamzah is interrogative as a rhetorical denial.

Explanation

These two readings amount to the same meaning, here understood as the objection of Madinan Jews to the Prophet (ﷺ) receiving revelation [Makki]. The translations will differ if this portion of the verse is understood as a continuation of what the Prophet (ﷺ) was instructed to tell them, i.e. “The true guidance is God’s guidance…”

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
