There is a great insight in the use of term 'sabaqa' (س-ب-ق) in this surah. This is the first ayah where it is used to describe the best types of the human beings (those who surpass others). Occasionally, my 4-year-old protests brushing his teeth (he’s not a fan of the toothpaste flavor). When that happens, I grab a couple of his monster trucks with teeth and ask him to brush theirs too. It always works. He goes from resistant to eager in seconds.
I think it’s because sometimes it’s easier to do things for others than it is to do them for ourselves. (And of course, the toys add to the excitement.)
