Al-Múminún 23:114 قال ان لبثتم الا قليلا لو انكم كنتم تعلمون ١١٤
قَٰلَ
إِن
لَّبِثۡتُمۡ
إِلَّا
قَلِيلٗاۖ
لَّوۡ
أَنَّكُمۡ
كُنتُمۡ
تَعۡلَمُونَ
١١٤
அதற்கவன் ‘‘ ஒரு சொற்ப காலத்தைத் தவிர (பூமியில் அதிக காலம்) நீங்கள் தங்கவில்லை. இதை முன்னதாகவே நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்க வேண்டாமா?'' என்று கூறுவான்.

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
Allah tells them how much they wasted in their short lives in this world by failing to obey Allah and worship Him Alone.
If they had been patient during their short stay in this world, they would have attained victory just like His pious close friends.
