A powerful reminder. Not only to Abu Lahab, who was the enemy of the Prophet (SAW). But it's a reminder to the rest of mankind. That wealth, status, family name will not help us on the Day of Judgement. 

What matters are our actions. Our level of piety. 

It doesn't matter if you don't have a penny in your pocket. Or if people look down at you. The only judgement that matters is that of Ar-Rahman. 

And Allah (SWT) has made it fair for everyone to be on a level playing field when it comes to climbing His ranks to the top.

A beautiful and important reminder, brother Omar. Jazakallah khair.

In the Name of Allah the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

This is the Surah which has been allocated for memorisation this week, and as I keep reciting and reflecting upon these verses I smiled. A big smile. 

Reading the seerah, we discover different personalities; the pious and the wicked. Therefore, I used to think about how horrendous this man Abu Lahab was and also his wife. Yet, with the constant information we are subject to especially regarding the genocide taking place in Gaza and other places in the world. We have been exposed to the understanding of certain personalities, tyrants and oppressors. 

We get a vivid picture of the fate of Abu Lahab, but there many who are present today with similar personality traits. We smile, that every person will meet their Lord including every oppressor. 

This Surah has caused me to smile and fear a lot.

Fear and hope - SubhanAllah, 

I had a similar experience too.
After the atrocities that have been taking place.
Day by day. In many parts of the world to Muslims..
Tyrants and oppressors are deemed as peace makers. 

I got so annoyed - I simply couldn't bear it anymore - 
Till the point I unexpectedly found comfort in Jahannam - 
It's shocking.
But the point is. It's relieving to know one day.
Allah swt will take full control. 
He'll restore justice.
And he'll reward whose deserving of being rewarded.
And those tyrants.
We'll finally, meet their punishment.

May Allah swt protect us from fire.
