فَهَزَمُوهُم
بِإِذۡنِ
ٱللَّهِ
وَقَتَلَ
دَاوُۥدُ
جَالُوتَ
وَءَاتَىٰهُ
ٱللَّهُ
ٱلۡمُلۡكَ
وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ
وَعَلَّمَهُۥ
مِمَّا
يَشَآءُۗ
وَلَوۡلَا
دَفۡعُ
ٱللَّهِ
ٱلنَّاسَ
بَعۡضَهُم
بِبَعۡضٖ
لَّفَسَدَتِ
ٱلۡأَرۡضُ
وَلَٰكِنَّ
ٱللَّهَ
ذُو
فَضۡلٍ
عَلَى
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Ni ho rero bahavuye babatsinda ku bushobozi bw’Imana Allah, Dawudi (nyakugira amahoro y’Imana Allah) araheza arica Jaluti umukuru w’izo ngabo, maze Imana Allah Ica Imuha ubwami n’ubutumwa kuri Bene Israyeli, Imwigisha n’ivyo Ishaka mu bumenyi. Iyo rero Imana Allah Itaja Iraha inkomezi abemeramana ngo batsinde abagarariji, isi yari kwuzura ubwononyi bitewe n’ukuganza kw’abagarariji, ariko rero Imana Allah ni Nyeningabirano ku biremwa vyose.

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
When the faithful party, who were few under the command of Talut, faced their enemy, who were many under the command of Jalut,
قَالُواْ رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا
(they invoked: "Our Lord! Pour forth on us patience...") meaning, send down patience on us from You.
وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا
