وَٱلَّذِينَ
يُتَوَفَّوۡنَ
مِنكُمۡ
وَيَذَرُونَ
أَزۡوَٰجٗا
وَصِيَّةٗ
لِّأَزۡوَٰجِهِم
مَّتَٰعًا
إِلَى
ٱلۡحَوۡلِ
غَيۡرَ
إِخۡرَاجٖۚ
فَإِنۡ
خَرَجۡنَ
فَلَا
جُنَاحَ
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
فِي
مَا
فَعَلۡنَ
فِيٓ
أَنفُسِهِنَّ
مِن
مَّعۡرُوفٖۗ
وَٱللَّهُ
عَزِيزٌ
حَكِيمٞ
٢٤٠
Àwọn tí wọ́n kú nínú yín, tí wọ́n sì fi àwọn ìyàwó sáyé lọ, kí wọ́n sọ àsọọ́lẹ̀ ìjẹ-ìmu ọdún kan fún àwọn ìyàwó wọn, láì sì níí lé wọn jáde kúrò nínú ilé wọn. Tí wọ́n bá sì jáde (fúnra wọn lẹ́yìn ìjáde opó), kò sí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ fún yín nípa ohun tí wọ́n bá fi’ra wọn ṣe ní dáadáa (láti ní ọkọ mìíràn). Allāhu ni Alágbára, Ọlọ́gbọ́n.

Ayah (2:240) was abrogated
The majority of the scholars said that this Ayah (2:240) was abrogated by the Ayah (2:234), what Allah said:
يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا
(...they (the wives) shall wait (as regards their marriage) for four months and ten days.) (2:234)
